Spoilers Background characters/details

[Bajoran Orb of Stupidity]

I’m very happy with the direction the new trek show is going and one of the many things I liked is all the cool characters we see in the back. I watched the episode with my dad we both noticed some cool background characters! Some of the aliens were, a weird slug guy, a handful of what me thing are Orions, a Charon (the one who’s black and white split down the middle), an oddly spiky Ferengi, and (one of my favorites) an expcomp!!
Also in the background was a good amount of diversity that I was happy to see! It’s cool to see people in wheelchairs in the back and there was a woman in a hijab (that matched her uniform so that’s a cool detail). Also the deaf betazoid was an interesting character although me and my dad can’t agree on if the translator on his shirt was translating his thoughts or his signing.
All together it’s a show I’m excited to see come out!!! Any background details you noticed? Tell me!

I really like the rich variety of background aliens presented so far. Definitely spotted all the ones you mentioned. There was also a Kelpian, a Saurian, the female alien that sang opera with the Doctor was of the same species as the one we saw in Star Trek Beyond and Section 31, a Brikar, Vulcans and what looks like a Romulan.

I also kind of have a soft spot for Cadet Pickford (the one who swallowed her combadge on day one), even though the idea of a cadet who is that clueless is almost too hard to swallow (pun not intended). And I like the “runner” that Lura scared away during a drill. When she ran away I said to my wife that would be me if I were part of Starfleet Academy.

I definitely saw a few of those guys in the back but the alien singing with the doctor was a good catch!!! I’m also fond of Pickford she definitely got a few laughs out of me!
