Babylon 5

And if we all do come together in a better place, let's hope we have the good sense to bring a better song with us.

Elric was the technomage played by Micheal Ansara who Londo was trying to get a meeting with. Elric is also the name of one of the most iconic characters in fantasy literature.

That and his character is named after sci-fi author, Alfred Bester. Lot's of little in jokes here and there, like Elric, or that the first man on Mars in the B5 universe was named John Carter, etc.
I never noticed that. is it in the comics or the show or?

Byron only annoyed me in the way that he was supposed to annoy me. The arc was a great example of people being their own worst enemies.

EVERYTHING about Byon made me retch.

Including Byron.

Damned Byron........

Even Byron's ending (while appeicated) was annoying because it invloved Byron.

I REALLY hate Byron........

My wife actually cheered out loud when he blew up.

In the show. Adrienne Barbeau played Amanda Carter and either she or someone else mentions her famous grandfather John. He was either first on Mars or piloted first colony ship to Mars, I can't recall.
The latter: -
"-I've read your proposal, Mr. Isogi. Frankly, you're either insane or a very brave man.
-I can well imagine that's what they said about your great-grandfather, John, when he volunteered to pilot the first colony ship to Mars.
-So they did."

Ok, it's done. I have finished. First off let me say I really enjoyed the series on a whole. Great storytelling, interesting characters. I am looking forward to the movies, and the re-watch.
The finale... kind of disappointed. Felt lack luster, and kind of boring. Sorry. No Londo? No explanations about the urn he gave Sinclair for his kid? How did G'Kar end up killing Londo? Will these questions be answered later? I was expecting more.

Most of your questions are addressed in the novels, especially the Centauri Prime novels.

Sorry if that's not the answer you want to hear, but it has the virtue of being true.

Well the TVM "In The Beginning" which is framed in 2278 answers at least one of those questions. "Sleeping in Light" BTW is set in 2281.

As for the urn, I thought perhaps it had a keeper in it.

I got that it had one of those parasites in it, but it was suppose to be given to Sheridans kid on their 16th birthday... but then nothing.

That is NOT what I wanted hear. If the issue was brought up on the show, it should be resolved on the show.
It may well be that some of the issues covered by the books would have been addressed onscreen if Crusade had got a longer run. The material in the Technomage trilogy certainly, and some Psi-Corps matters. Not so sure about the Centauri issues.

Exactly. Couldn't possibly be shown in the show. By now you know that it was framed as a documentary of a slice of history. History isn't neat and tidy I'm afraid.

VERY sorry to hear that you didn't care for 'Sleeping in Light'! 'Boring' is definitely not a word I've ever seen used to describe it.

What did you think about the end of the Londo/G'Kar arc? Yes, that final scene is shown in 'In the Beginning'. And the books are great, don't get me wrong, but not strictly necessary. But you do actually know part of it already, just not details. We know that there was something scandelous about it because of the comment in 'Deconstruction of Falling Stars' about "...that incident concerning their son." Also, remember what Delenn said in Sheridan's flash-forward? "Our son is safe."

BTW, I think some folks here have wanted news when there was new stuff from the B5 Books folks. A new announcement came out yesterday. Check out B5Books.com .
