Which is a pity. I thought it was a good zinger at the time.
Do you think they could make Blazing Saddles now?
NO........ someone somewhere would bitch and moan about it.

Whereas others like me see it as a way of being polite and view those who try to use the term 'political correctness' as a pejorative to be defending their right to be jerks. Though I'll grant that in some instances it's taken to extremes.I find political correctness to be vastly overrated, and overused.
I see some people use PC as a way to shut people up and not voice their own individual opinions.
Actually, ben-Zayn is an Middle Eastern/Arabic name.

My personal feeling is that this discussion is overthinking the whole thing. All the comment was, was shorthand that Ben Zayn was a dictator. No more, no less. I mean, even if a viewer hadn't seen the episode up to that point, is there any doubt whatsoever that they'd know what kind of person was being referred to?
Nope. Not a chance in hell.Which is a pity. I thought it was a good zinger at the time.

Similarly, JMS offered to change Mattheson's surname to an Asian one in Crusade but they decided against it.Somewhat related: I recall an anecdote about how they made a point to assign the surnames we see on extra's uniforms at random and so they ended up with all kinds of interesting combinations such as Asian people with Native American names, Caucasian people with Asian names and so on.
Which, of course, nobody but Delenn knew anything about at the time of 'Eyes'.As for examples of real genocidal maniacs on the show, the award would probably go to Delenn, screaming "Follow them back to their bases and kill them, all of them. All of them! No mercy!"

He's got it. Thanks for sharing that. Do you have any more information about his condition?Apologies if this is pushing the boundaries of what's allowed but without Ron Thornton there wouldn't have been a Babylon 5 in any form we recognize. He could use a hand now.
The mined asteroids at the Coriana VI battle barely made a dent into the Vorlon and Shadow forces. The First Ones' presence ended up saving the Babylon 5 forces asses.
