I noticed the sync issues for the first time on my last rewatch. I thought it might have been something on my end. I'm glad to now know that it wasn't.

I think it was mainly a problem throughout Season One and parts of Season Two.

The sync issues on HBO Max start in Season 2, not Season 1.

Lucky, in Europe HBO Max there is no Babylon 5. Else i would have never unsubbed from it. Not sure who is holding the rights to broadcast in Europe.
Also i read they are shutting down HBO Max in spring 2023, so won't matter for long i guess.

Is the sync problem just on HBO Max or is it on the itunes version too? I bought the itunes ones a while back but have not have time to watch them.

I don't know, because I only ever tried to stream the Remastered version on HBO Max.

I don't think they're actually shutting it down, they're just combining it and Discovery + into one service.

Well, shutting HBO Max down in the sense that they are taking away a lot of the budget (except, of course, for House of the Dragon), so it feels like being shut down, and may feel a whole lot more like Discovery, with a few shows/movies thrown in.

And I wanted to ask.... I am someone who saw the show during its original run. i just don'thave itme to watch the whole thing (especially if Zaslav continues his purge). What key episodes should i watch again... and doesn't have to be the "usual" ones Liek Babylon Squared or Deconstuction of Falling Stars... maybe some episodes that a fan would look at and go "Yeah, that is what I love about Babylon 5", or some key character episodes that might not be super relevent to the overall arc

Which episodes would you want to see again?

    All of them.

    110 episodes x 42 minutes = 77 hours.

Anyone can call in sick, and forego four days sleep.

If i was to pick one episode from each season:

" Mind War " - Episode 6, Season 1. ( 2 Interesting plots in this episode, and that speech at the end of the episode was very interesting for me)

"The Long, Twilight Struggle" - Episode 20 from Season 2. ( G'kar speech was very memorable )

"Z'ha'dum" - Episode 22 Season 3 ( Sacrifices and revelations that are key to understanding Shadow philosophy) directed by Adam Nimoy.

From season 4 - "No Surrender, No Retreat" - Episode 15 ( Start of engagement between Earth Forces and White Star Fleet)

From Season 5 - "A View from the Gallery" - Episode 4 (casual comedic view of the lives of 2 workers, was very memorable for me)

"Chrysalis" because it sets up everything that comes after.
"The Geometry of Shadows" because Michael Ansara and Ivanova's solution to the Drazi mess.
"Messages from Earth" because of Marcus and Ivanova.
"Sic Transit Vir" because Vir. :)
"War Without End" Parts I and II because it blew my mind. Also, Zathras.
"The Deconstruction of Falling Stars" because it's bloody brilliant.
"Day of the Dead" because this episode just effects me strongly.

Now I just want to watch the whole show again. :D

How much coffee do you need to stay up for 77 hours (+ the movies?).

I can't imagine staying awake from end to end of Thirdspace.

    Snooze city.

"CHRYSALIS" - because this was a turning point for everything.

"THE LONG, TWILIGHT STRUGGLE" - as mentioned above, G'Kar's speech.

"WAR WITHOUT END" - I have to say both parts because the end reveal was jaw dropping.

"Into The Fire" - ending the Shadow War.

"Sleeping In Light" - just for the emotion of it all. It's hard not to shed at least a single man tear while watching this. (Actually, it's impossible to hold it back.)

Thirdspace - was like a collaboration between Cthulhu Mythos by H. P. Lovecraft x Babylon 5.
Felt very mysterious and scary. And really well done for the budget of just 2 million $.

I like "Grey 17 is Missing" thank you very much! I think people are way too harsh on it.

The B story is excellent and makes the episode

In all seriousness that's kind of the point I was making; there really aren't any "skippable" episodes because they all had *something* important in them, even if it's just a line, a scene, or yes, a B-plot like in 'Grey 17 is Missing'.
The big pivotal episodes don't really mean much in isolation because you need all of that connective tissue from the preceding stories to give weight and context. The series was structured like a novel for a reason, after all.
