Babylon 5

The Earth Alliance presidency is a little odd, but similar to the early USA: vice president is the person who came second, not the president's nominated running mate.

Yeah, that's not what happened.

The election we hear about in Midnight on the Firing Line was to either give the Santiago/Clark administration a second term or elect a new administration headed by Marie Crane (and whomever her VP running mate was).

Uhm, ... no?! Because we saw who ran against Santiago in Midnight on the Firing Line", and it was Marie Crane, not Morgan Clark.
Also Susan Ivanova justifies voting for Marie Crane and not voting for President Santiago because he has no chin and his vice president (Clark) has several.
Oops, I completely forgot about that. I haven't seen the first season in many years.

20 years since I watched that episode, misremembered.

A line played for laughs, but I still always felt it made Ivanova look about as silly as some one into phrenology.
Not really, I thought it was just water cooler-type banter. Someone light years from Earth with serious responsibilities probably doesn't have either the time or the inclination to research the party policies of election candidates. Or maybe it's just her cynical nature - if she feels there's nothing of consequence to her to distinguish between the candidates, why not just go on their personal appearance. I wouldn't say that it's untypical of how people can behave, especially if they're not very interested in politics.

Also Psi-Corps endorsed Clark's selection as a vice presidental candidate, and Ivanova didn't have any love for Psi-Corps.

I'm not sure I want to see more B5 on the big or small screen when so much of the original talent would need to be either omitted or replaced.
Yeah, that's how I feel about it.

Now, if it's set in the universe, either as a continuation of Crusade or Legends of the Rangers or show an untold story (Telepath War!), then I'm all for it.

But, yeah, I won't believe it until it's actually released. We've been here before.

Boxleitner and Christian made a point that there was a reason why they (those two plus Tallman, Mumy and Jurasik) were all together at a dinner several weeks ago. There were a number of photos posted. I'll be interested in seeing whatever might come to be since it looks like JMS is in charge.

JMS has also said there are two different potential projects in play, so it's possible the actors got together for the other thing and not the animated project.

I can't say Crusade or LotR (heh) impressed me enough that I really want to see more done with either of them, though I grant that both might have become better over time.

I wouldn't really like to see the Telepath War without Walter Koenig, and I'm assuming having Bester without recasting at this point isn't really an option. I could see Pat Tallman being up for it, though they might have to adjust the original timeline. Maybe an animated version if Walter was up for voice-acting Bester?

Other stories set in the B5 universe? Possibly, but I'm just left feeling that aside from the original series and the later novels, a lot of B5 stuff ended up working better in theory than in execution. Maybe it's best to just let it be at this point.

I doubt JMS has any interest in it, and I'm not really sure there's a ton of potential for it, but given how much I've been enjoying "What if...?" I'd be curious to see a B5 version of such.
