Babylon 5 - I'm finally going to do it

The Very Long Night of Londo Mollari

That was a great episode. We actually do get some stuff regarding Londo and G'Kar and all the deeds of the past, and it was actually quite rewarding. I'm not sure if it was as simple as just saying sorry. Londo couldn't do it, and didn't even want to do it almost as if he was fearful of what might happen. Reading the lurker's guide, they seem to always remind us about Lady Morella's vision and Londo having to face his greatest fear. Could this be part of that? Still, seeing the flashbacks was really nice and added to the story. As for Lennier joining the Rangers, that's an interesting turn for a character who said he would never leave Delenn's side. I guess the presence of Sheridan can change ones mind, but here it actually did make some sense.

The Paragon of Animals

I'm starting to find Byron annoying, and that's not good in his second episode. So he's holding so much resentment and maybe hatred towards mundanes despite the fact that it was a mundane that allowed him to even be on the station anyway? Also, the way he just talks makes it come across like a whiny little bitch then a man with a cause.

Other than that, it wasn't a bad episode. Liked the declaration of Principles from G'Kar and I wonder how he revised it further. As for the Enphili, not really caring so much about them, but it did get the point of the alliance across so I guess that's good. Lyta wanting to get more from Byron about his cause? I hope she doesn't turn bad, even though remember she is working for psi-corps so that might be interesting.

Wow, a reaction got a rise out of people. Good stuff. ;) :guffaw:

A View From the Gallery

Babylon 5 doing a lower decks episode. There was something really strange about that, given everything that has happened before (Shadow War, War with Earth, destroying Narn, stuff like that). Still, I found this episode enjoyable. I'll probably forget about it in the near term, but I liked seeing the perspective of the battle from Mac and Bo. The scene where there was fighting all around them and they were breaking for lunch was great, because it did hit a bit close to home. You only have a proper perspective on things and the real perspective is unimaginable. Loved the ending:

I think I'm in love

Mack, she's married

Yeah...I think we can work something out. :guffaw:

Hated hated HATED View From the Gallery. The two "leads" were terrible, the writing was terrible, and, oh boy, an alien-of-the-week attack from a people we've never heard of before or again.

Terrible.

I liked 'View" a lot but then, I usually like the off-format episodes. Even if I hadn't liked Mack and Bo, though, I'd've had to love it just for the way the episode poked fun at the show itself in the scene where Mack & Bo talk about the floor machine.

When it first aired I loved "Gallery" because it actually had, y'know, ACTION and CGI. But having watched the show again last summer it definitely wasn't as good as I remembered. I really liked "Long Night Londo", it's one of two episodes I actually liked in the first half of Season Five.

As much as Londo seemed to fear apologizing to G'Kar, I don't think it's part of Lady Morella's prophecy because the next part of it after saying he had to face his greatest fear was 'knowing it will destroy you'. As much as he did resist, the cathartic release from the apology actually saved is life.

I liked the comment they made about G'kar and Londo. "How long do you think they've been married?" It seems the natural comment after witnessing what they've seen.

And I think Londo's greatest fear was not his having to apologize. It was submitting to his death at the hands of G'Kar. Just as Not killing the one who was already dead was him sparing Sheridan.

I agree. I don't mind the concept, but those two lead characters were just awful.

I think I just saw the all time worst bit of exposition in the history of B5! It's in "Points of Departure" where Ivanova says to Sheridan "y'know I've never actually heard how you blew up the Dark Star". Really? His old buddy from Io or whatever never heard how he did it? This singular victory in the entire war which was heavily propagandized to everyone? Really? :p

dude, people suck up to their bosses all the time by pretending to be interested in hearing old "war stories" (in this case, i guess, literally "war" stories...)

Learning Curve

Yet another episode where it focuses on characters I really don't care too much about. Watching some of these episodes, I'm almost longing for the days where the mythos (Shadows, Morden, pretty much Seasons 2-4) was in full swing or something interesting happened (Whatever happened to Bureau 13 anyway. Did I miss something?) because some of these episodes are kinda hard to get through. The only interesting thing I liked in this episode was giving Lochley something of a backbone. Her chat with Garibaldi was great and made me wonder why it wasn't brought up that Garibaldi too didn't support Sheridan's military decisions, even though he was under Bester's control. Still, overall, I was a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing.
