I think if you make money off a film or video, and you eat the sushi on camera, you can deduct it from your taxes. Consult your CPA first, though.

Seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing a little character-focused vignette set against the backdrop of those events. But it should be kept to a smaller scale, instead of trying to go all-out and make some huge war epic.
