We had to have our oldest cat put to sleep this morning

He's under the elderberry tree now, with some salmon, a lock of Lesley's hair and a toy mouse. I'm more upset than I expected. Lesley, who's had him since he was a kitten (he'd be 16 this month) is worse.

Thanks - we have three other (his younger sister and two other females) but he was Lesley's loyal and most special one, like her baby, really.

AWE, so sorry to hear about this. It hurts when you loose a pet. I lost a dog about two years ago. She got run over by a car and died on the way to the animal hospital. I was extremely messed up about the matter but she's buried over at our old office building cause that's where she was everyday.

Condolences to you and Lesley on the loss of your beloved Mursya. It is always difficult to lose one of our little family members but is even more difficult when we have to make the decision for them. I am sure that you have saved him from suffering, and that is a wonderful thing.

I'm sorry you've lost your friend, Lonemagpie. I know how hard it is to lose a pet (many times over). It's very nice how you buried him with some remembrances in your yard; I was never able to do that for any of my pets.
