I haven't gone out of my way to ge tickets early. So do you think I'll have no problem getting tickets the day I go? Or should I make an effort to get them early?

Saw the Avengers on Imax today.
The movie is fantastic. The way it brings the other Marvel movies together, the humour is spot-on and of course the action is hectic.
Loki's use of the word quim :)
I didn't know whether to burst out crying or stand up and applaud in the Loki hostage scene and a movie Hulk I actually like, still not sure a separate Hulk movie would work, better in an assembles.

I wonder if he'll be in Iron Man 3? Stark and Banner were very pally in the movie, and they did drive off together at the end

I sure as hell hope so.

Just came back from the movie. Ohmygod, I didn't know they could be this good.

:D

Movietickets.com has some good news concerning pre-sales for The Avengers on the North American release next weekend.
Just over a week until the release of MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, MovieTickets.com, the leading global provider of remote movie ticketing, is already showing tremendous domestic pre-sales of the highly anticipated film.

MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS is pre-selling more tickets for the upcoming release than the online ticketing company sold for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, THOR, IRON MAN 2, and IRON MAN combined at the same point in the sales cycle for each film. In fact, pre-sales of MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS is over one and a half times that of these past Marvel films combined sales at the same point in the sales cycle.
I can't help but think this surge of pre-sales coincides within a day(or so) of the limited overseas openings. If the comments in this thread from those here are duplicated about the 'net then it's got to be fueling this some I think. Hype breeds hype.

God I really hope my theater will have a decent number of 2D showings for this. I'm not a 3D hater by any means, but this movie already look PLENTY cool and epic enough as is.

Maybe, the two of them hit it off right away, unlike how he was with everyone else.

I Loved the Hulk punching Thor

Saw it on Wednesday. The movie was amazingly epic. From start to finish i was enthralled. Each member had their little moment to shine and that was rather evident in the sweeping one camera take during one of two fantastic choreographed action set pieces. And yes...the Hulk/Loki scene had our cinema laughing for what seemed like a good hour or so. hahaha.

A+ seems...inadequate.

Interesting Movie Tickets.com is seeing so much of a "surge" in sales considering they no-longer support AMC theaters.

For some reason I can't find any listings online for 2D showings in my area.

I have a bad feeling about this.

The best quote of the movie:

Hulk to Loki:
"Puny god"

Yessssssssssss!!!!

The noise I made when that guy turned up half way through the end credits could most accurately, my friend confirming my blouse size ascertained as an ultra girlish squee...

"So who was that?" She says.

I had to give the guys full name.

You can't just say his name.

You have to say the bit at the end to exstrenuate the clarity of what this entity is like in his spare time when no is watching... Or in the shower.

We've all read Sandman comics.

He's not an idiot.

Although, what about when Peter Griffen had the job?

You know who looked hot as the end of all things?

I'm usually not a fan.

But, Holy Marie Combs.

"Sigh"

I just got back as well. Epic. Totally epic. Lived up to the hype. Not going to give a detailed review, I just want to gush a little. Every character had their moments and the dialogue was sharp (thank you Whedon). One of the complaints I have about the other Marvel films is that the action feels lacking towards the climax, but in Avengers it never lets up. I was very sad when it ended and I can't wait to see it again.

There was a moment when I was just sat in the cinema thinking 'I'm watching Captain America, Iron Man, Bruce Banner and Thor arguing. Holy shit'.

So many positive reviews.. I can't wait to see it next week.

But a question now. What kind of Hulk do we get here? The usual or a smart talking one?

The usual, but not as uncontrolled as in his own movies.

On top of that he'll make you cry from laughing.
He's pretty much the secret star of the movie.

Oh, and for the record: I watched it and it was awesome. In Whedon, we trust.
A+

I am psyched by all these positive reviews and at the same time, I'm chomping at the bit because I have to wait another week!

Guess I'll go read my new issue of Entertainment Weekly - awesome cover! That will have to hold me until next Saturday.

:bolian:
