Apologies if this has been brought up already -but if it is the case that the timeline in which Steve and Peggy stayed together (or rather, were reunited) is a distinct timeline from the "core MCU" Earth-199999, might that leave the door ajar for Marvel Studios to introduce their own equivalent to Earth-415's (new) Captain America at some later point?

In the mobile game she was first introduced in, there are three sets of armour to choose from; but if she was to be used in other media, I wonder which - if any - they would select? (I think the Star Light armour might work best.)

They could but it would be too evocative of Sharon Carter, which with this Sharon being Steve's daughter would be super-awkward.

If they ever went this sort of route, I'd be more inclined to expect the Peggy Carter Captain America from the Exiles comic - especially if they can get Atwell back.

On Earth-415, Steve never went into the ice, so it's possible that he and Peggy's daughter might have been born before the "other" Sharon - if the latter even exists in that universe. (You can place both Sharons on the same team in the game, though I don't think they are from the same universe.)

In this instance, there could be plenty of alternate name options which Earth-199999's Steve could consider, so long as the overall concept of his and Peggy's daughter inheriting the Captain America moniker were to be put in place.

On a semi-related note, If I recall correctly, there's at least one DC comic timeline in which Bruce and Clark were active starting in the 1930s, and where successive generations of Waynes and Kents passed on those respective capes.

I was under the impression that the first animated What If...? story on Disney+ will be along those lines.

Interestingly, the MCU isn't using the "Earth 1999999" designation to identify itself. According to the Far From Home trailers, MCU Earth is... Earth-616. (!)

I had forgotten about that, but yeah. That'll be cool to see. Still, the fact that they're already putting it on screen as an alternate universe makes me think it's even more likely that if they ever want an alternate Cap who's female they'll use that one, unless they just can't get Atwell back.

But I agree, as long as they don't use the name Sharon, that Steve and Peggy's daughter could work, too.

Honestly, I wouldn't really expect to see either of them in live action, at least in the MCU. There are so many other classic characters they haven't gotten to yet and the MCU won't last forever. Though maybe if the Disney+ shows are a success we might eventually get an Exiles series? I would love that to bits and it would be the perfect place for all kinds of off the wall alternate versions of characters we'd never get to see otherwise.

Interesting. I was thinking about watching it a third time but this weekend. I guess I'll hold off and hope that my theater actually gets this new material (my confidence in them has waned ever since AMC bought it out and changed it terribly).

Yeah, true.

However, Far From Home comes out the following weekend, so I could just watch Endgame again when I go see it.

Well, I mean come on, who names their own universe "Earth 1999999"? I mean at least pick something memorable like "Earth The Fighting Mongooses"!
On an equally not at all serious note; what if EVERY universe in the Marvel multiverse that mostly resemble the mainline comics call themselves "Earth 616"?

My feeling is that the new material is going to be stuff that will probably be available on the Blu-ray release anyway.

If they don't, they're going to get so much international flake for this. Not all countries do re-releases on a big scale like this.

We know now what will be new for the re-release and even I think it's a bit underwhelming (especially considering my theater probably isn't one of the "select theaters"):

Beginning Friday, June 28, select theaters will have stocks of a new poster to give fans coming to see the film again, depicting Tony Stark’s version of the Infinity Gauntlet. Meanwhile, the screening itself will include a new introduction from director Anthony Russo, “an unfinished deleted scene,” and a sneak peek of Spider-Man: Far From Home before it officially opens next week.
The poster can be viewed in the linked article.
