Avengers 2 News, Rumors, Etc. Pictures until release...

Have you seen Daredevil? Superheroing ain't his thing. Hell, IMO, acting ain't his thing. Haven't seen Argo, so cannot say either way about him as a director.

.

Can Actors not grow? learn? Have you seen state of play or the town or hollywoodland?

Whedon on Spader:

http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/179191-joss-whedon-talks-casting-james-spader-as-ultron

"Spader was my first and only choice. He's got that hypnotic voice that can be eerily calm and compelling, but he's also very human and humorous. Ultron is not Hal (from 2001: A Space Odyssey). Spader can play all of the levels. He's the guy to break The Avengers into pieces."

The invite was right there in the pilot of Buffy.

"James Spader?"
"He needs to call me!"

Still, with this story out there now, perhaps it will encourage her to pursue the role. And also encourage Marvel to stick her in a damn movie already!

I do have a question regarding Carol though...in the comics Jessica Drew is her best friend, and as most of you know, Jessica Drew is Spider-Woman. Now I looked it up and Sony does not have the rights to her (she's not part of the IP). So I'm curious, would Sony cause a stink if Marvel were to use her in one of their movies?

I still don't think Marvel would use her at the risk of Sony causing a stink for whatever reason though. I'd love to see her, because along with Captain Marvel, she's one of my favorite characters.

I think Marvel would shy away from using it because people would think it's an odd Spiderman ripoff (regardless of what Sony would think). I don't think Spiderwoman is iconic enough. Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and maybe a few others would be smarter choices for a female franchise lead.

Doubt it. Except for the word "Spider", Spider-man and Spider-Woman really have no connection to each other.

In fact, the Spider-Woman character was only created by Marvel in order to keep Filmation Studios from trademarking their own Spider-Woman, as detailed here in an old "Comic Book Legends Revealed!" article.

The Filmation Legend is the first "legend" listed in this article. Jump down to the third, and you'll see how Jessica Drew was originally given Wolverine's original origin. As that original origin would have been rather lame for either character, it's easy to see why Marvel later ret-conned it.

I'm not suggesting they give her a solo film. I just think if they were to do a Ms. Marvel (or Captain Marvel film), or even just bring the character into the MCU. It would be great to bring along Jessica Drew as well, since in the comics she and Carol work really well together (as friends...lest you have a dirty mind ;)).

Well, that's not really a surprise (although she still might have a surprise appearance).

Cool Teaser, although it's literally that. It tells you practically nothing, but it looks cool.
