AVATAR CONTEST: "Heroes and Icons of Fantasy"

Star Wars is fantasy, not sci-fi.
I knew this would come up. I agree it is si fi set in space. The spirit of this contest, however, is more of the dingy dirty swords and sorcery genre. I thought long and hard and decided to make the call and exclude Star Wars, but that call could've gone either way.
Yeah, it's not really a big deal. Star Wars is too obvious anyway. I get what you mean by the spirit of the contest. At least your reasoning is better than "it has spaceships, so it's sci-fi." :techman:

Am I allowed to use this? Haha.

If not, I'll just use this one:

Is that Batman? I see Batman more as a Sci-Fi superhero due to all the vehicles and gadgets he has, just like Ironman is a Sci-Fi superhero. At the very least, I'd call it modern urban fantasy.

Not the Batman I posted -- he was for justice. Anyway, that's my entry.

It's from "Batman: The Animated Series", episode: "Prophecy of Doom" (it's very brief, blink and you'll miss it).

Everyone is waiting on me to decide.

I'd rather take a vote. Just so everyone knows, this is what I think. Almost anything fictional these days is a fantasy. Much of it has fantastical elements to it that likely or more definitely would not happen in real life. However, the intention of my contest and in keeping with the idea of paying homage to the work of Frazetta, I was referring to the genre of fantasy, of swords, sandols, sorcery, magic, and shields.
However, I like that entry of Batman I'll let you all decide.

I vote that you act as sole dictator of your contest and decide whatever the frak you want. :D
