Avatar, Book One is three years older than The Entropy Effect was when Avatar, Book One was released.

When Avatar Book One came out, The Entropy Effect—the oldest of the old original Pocket novels—was twenty years old.

Avatar Book One came out over twenty-three years ago.

I hope the rest of you feel as old as I do.
A couple of years ago, I re-read "Gibt es ein Leben nach der Todesanzeige" by Ephraim Kishon. It was a short story in a collection about media, and I thought "Well, of course this book will not cover Internet, since the internet wasn't invented back then". And then I did some calculating, saw, when the book was published - and thought "SHIT, I'm old."

Wow, I had no idea it had been that long since Avatar came out. It really did start an absolutely amazing period of Star Trek books and the franchise as a whole. While I enjoy the new shows, given a choice between the two, I'll always prefer where the Novelverse took things over what the shows did. If I were to rate the two overall, I have to give the shows an 8 versus a 9 for the Novelverse.
