Australian preview for Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's "The Pacific"

Re: Australian preview for Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's "The Pacif

Don't worry, it will show up soon enough on Youtube and other video sites. There's no take backs on the internet.

I never understand it when companies have websites pull advertisements. If it's helping sell your product to as many people as possible, what's the problem?

Re: Australian preview for Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's "The Pacif

I'll watch it for sure.

If I remember right Band of Brothers had a budget of around 120 million, does anyone know what the budget for this new series is? Looks expensive from the trailer, but those can be misleading.
According to Wiki it's final budget came in at the $150million level, with most of the money spent filming in Australia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pacific_(miniseries)

Hugo - Another HBO series for his DVD collection...

Managed to catch the trailer on channel seven on news years, it does indeed look good.

I'm guessing it's to protect the copyright. You loose it if you don't actively protect it, and sending an email to the guys at YouTube with a link to a video is an easy way to do it.

I didnt even know this was in procution yet alone close to being releaed *adds to must watch list*

Ditto. I've been waiting for something like this ever since I finished watching Band of Brothers the first time.

I missed the trailer but I'm going to have to agree with you on that one. If it's even half as good as Band of Brothers it will be in my collection as well.

Re: Australian preview for Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's "The Pacif

I heard about this a long time back-didn't realize it was so close to release. *drools on self* Can't wait!

Re: Australian preview for Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's "The Pacif

Great production values in that trailer. As for the rest, I'll see it when it comes to DVD.

Is it a good idea to post e-mails here? Would spambots pick them up?

because the only arseholes bigger than the U.S tv networks are the Australian ones.

HBO series have never really gotten a good run on Australian tv (they show on the free to airs). From Earth To The Moon got a saturday afternoon slot, The Sopraonos late night and I can't remember when Band Of Brothers got broadcast and Rome couldn't of been more fucked over if it was in a Orgy (promoted at the beginning of the year then finally shows in non-ratings and gets yanked after 3 eps).

With War in the Pacific being filmed in Australia it's might get some more promotion and hopefully better treatment.

If it doesn't then Australians will continue to be noted for their downloading of tv programs off the net.
