Aussie fans... walk the red carpet at the Premiere in Sydney!

Could be. Wouldn't suprise me. Having said that, their site was having probs all day and apparently now Sydney's blacked out so their site is down (must be a local host).

^^^ Yes. Will I be able to avoid reading those spoilers is the next question. I am so very weak.

^ I think this film will do well. We should have counselors standing by to treat the haters. They may not survive it.

Judging by the content of your post and the signature you currently have, you're in desperate need of attention. Perhaps you should have one of those counselors hang back to give you some special treatment.
Okay, you're tied at one apiece, now knock it off. It's not a good sign when Americans feel they have to go fishing in Australian waters. Or don't seem to care.

He started it! :p:guffaw: What is it about this board that brings out the seven-year old in me?

I'm hoping you aussies have seen this article? It seems there will be a drawing for people to attend the (second?) world premiere on 9 April, rather than 7 April.

The premiere begins its journey in Sydney on 7 April, with its second stop at SKYCITY Auckland on 9 April, before it continues around the world finally reaching the US. New Zealand movie fans can beat the crowds when the film opens to the general public on 7 May by booking early at www.skycitycinemas.co.nz to get in the draw to win tickets to the premiere on 9 April. Fans along the red carpet are also in with a chance to win last minute seats at the premiere.

Ooh, and I'm actually on holidays on 9 April. Is it really worth getting a passport and flight overseas to see a movie a few weeks before (almost) everyone else though? :)

That's okay, they're pretty much an Australian state anyway. Just without the sporting prowess and with worse accents.

I'm more worried about people seeing it at the Oz premiere, and then coming on here and revealing major plot points.

It could get very nasty, and there'll be an entire month with potentially huge spoilers just a click away.

I'll do a non-spoiler review. I won't do one that spills the beans.
It's very nice to see you around these parts again :bolian:, but since you have a ticket to this event and I don't I also feel compelled to register my disgust. :p :D

It would actually have been worth dragging myself to Sydney. Oh, well.

Ta!

I accept your disgust. ;) I figured seeing as though I'm always totally bummed when the US always gets these fantastic things I had to take the opportunity to got to a once in a lifetime event. I hope this film really revives Star Trek, but either way it'll be great to go to the biggest Star Trek event Australia's ever had!

porthos4captain, didn't know you were a Coaster as well. Cool. Might see you at Greater Union at Tuggerah on 7/5.

There is now a gag order on reviews by paramount until the end of april. We'll probably get reviews from fans that go. Hopefully we can get some with and without spoilers.
