I know; I went with the precedent set with the Huron (from TAS) which was referred to as SS Huron in dialog even though her hull carried the USS. Which is why the registry has the S in it, like the Huron's funky F.Minor nit: It was the SS Beagle, not USS.
I'm speculating, since it wasn't established in dialog, that the "merchant service" is similar to the MSC of our era. And Merak, while a civilian, was still bound by those pesky Starfleet rules. And Kirk, therefore, had legal jurisdiction in the matter. She was a Federation ship, but not Starfleet.
And a little Bonaventure as well. Nice. Not bad. Definitely Daedalus lineage.
Thanks guys. And a little Bonaventure as well. Nice. Not bad. Definitely Daedalus lineage.
Sorry, missed this comment and apologize for the tardiness of the response. Don't have a readily available 1701 but the Type F shuttlecraft is to scale (at 26 ft, per Warped9I'm having trouble reading the small writing. Can you put an image of Kirk's Enterprise next to your Beagle to scale for comparison?
