Contest: ENTER August 2020 Art Challenge — “Not Trek”

So it wasn't where I wanted it to be, but it's finished, my star wars old republic cruiser, one of those obscure random ships you always see in the background lol "The Fellsword Light Battle Cruiser"

I can see that detaching from a larger structure better than Nostromo

I'm probably going to miss the deadline on this one. I got started on the initial sketch too late and the finishes always take more time than I expect. I'll try to rush it anyway.
I would gladly give you – or anyone who wants it – more time. How much do you need? :)

A week at most. I also have acouple of RL problems to tackle.
Oh, that doesn't sound good, I hope you get all the RL stuff figured out. A week long delay until the next contest might be a bit excessive, I think. I thought we were just talking about a couple of days. I probably won't put up the voting thread before Tuesday. So maybe we'll just see how far you get until then? :)

Can someone do something Black Panther related? I don't think I will have time....

(Or next month's theme?)

Fair enough. We'll see how far I get.:)

Launch your advanced satellites from anywhere on Krysto's frigid landscape with the Mobile Launch Base ICARUS! Roll this behemoth wherever you need and unfold it into the second largest base in the arsenal of the astronauts, only topped by Ice Station ODYSSEY.

Image opens into a two-picture gallery. That was fun! Except for those moments where my rigging disagreed with me. But all is fixed! When it's passed the review progress, if you fancy it, you can open the model in Bricklink's Stud.io by downloading it right here!

 Wow, this is such a cool idea! Very nice!

LEGO!!! Tweenage me would have loved a set like this, @BorgMan. Oh, who am I kidding - I'd love a set now! :bolian:

EDIT: Is the model CG? I thought you'd made it with real Lego pieces then made CG box art, but I clicked on the link and I'm not sure now? It looks so real. Either way, it's amazing!

Yeah, I've had a lot of fun building this!

While it's not the same, you can at least throw some stuff together with Lego Digital Designer and stud.io, but hey, you could also just go out and buy a set! I'm planning on getting the VW Beetle or the Fiat 500 to complement my VW T1 sometime soon...

Oh, I was just editing my original post when you replied. So, the model is just photons and not physical Lego? Incredible!

It unfortunately is only photons yeah... I lack the more recent hinge pieces to make this a reality even while using just random colours I still have in my collection. And I noticed that outright buying the necessary parts is prohibitively expensive. Stud.io has a built-in calculator for it...

Wait...this is the entry?

Babylon 5

The EAS Talos had aligned itself with Sheridan's fleet and had been bringing other ships over to his side against Clark, but the EAS Excalibur wasn't having it and turned on the Talos starting a battle with several Omega's and White Stars participating. It would be the last time the Omega Class Excalibur would engage anyone in combat.

Ran out of time to do what I wanted for this, but needed to get it in for the monthly challenge.

Set Built in Truespace 3.2
Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.12 with iRay
Additional Textures by Amras
Figures are Genesis from DAZ
Uniform jackets are by AuroraMoon
Pants and boots are V4 Courageous and M4 Valiant

I'm guessing @Michael is stretching the deadline as far as reasonably possible for @Admiral2 who stated he needed a few extra days.
That's half of the reason, yeah. I've also been pretty busy with work stuff and hadn't found the time to make the voting happen. :(

@Admiral2, do you think you might finish your piece in the next 24 hours? I also saw that @Starscape has been working on an entry. What about you, do you still want to enter? :)
