^Mmmmm, make up! I need to go to Saphora this weekend to stock up. I want a nice dark chocolaty brown eyeshadow; usually I wear a golden brown but I want something for a more smoky, evening look. I also need a classic deep red lipstick. Next weekend I'm attending a Chinese New Year's party with a 1930's speakeasy theme. I have the perfect dress, and it's royal blue and red. I need some red lipstic to match.
I'm not sure what shoes to pair it with, though. I might need some new pumps. I feel like pairing it with red or blue would do no justice to the dress, so I'm thinking black or a dark chocolate brown. If I go with the brown I'm also going to choose dark brown nail polish.

I also need to get a pair of fishnet stockings with a seam up the back, a red clutch with a Chinese-inspired floral pattern, and a red feather fascinator for my hair. I can't wait for this shindig!

That all sounds fantastic. I love your style! I got a purse from Singapore as a present from my cousin recently, and I have a feeling it would go exactly with the outfit you described.

Does anyone else think polish looks odd on their fingers? I used to think it was because I kept my nails short, but even with them long, I've never found a color that looks okay.

I've always been too clumsy - I can't get polish on right. And now I'm so used to what my hands look like I think they probably would look odd if I added polish.

But then I've never figured out make-up at all, so I'm a bit of a lost cause really My sister's been tasked with teaching little miss trampledamage all about make-up, shoes and handbags!

I'm not wearing red cuz I think that's too hokey on Valentines Day. I thought about a dress, but I might stick out by being too formal and I don't want to look like I'm looking. Plus, it's gonna be cold.

I'm going around town looking for Taboo so we can play it. I freakin' love that game. And I'm going to pick up some chips and dip for the potluck part.

It seems that women may outnumber men in the workforce soon. I saw this video on the Today Show this morning. They said men, who usually have the higher paying jobs, are losing jobs in this recession by 82 %

Also, men who are laid off are spending more time looking for another job, sleeping or relaxing, rather than taking care of the kids and the house. Unfortunately, the women still have to work and take care of the house/family.

I'm glad that churches are pulling men aside and having a discussion about this disparity.

I am not really surprised actually. In Science labs are usually 5 females to one male. Even those old fogies who would only hire or get male grad students are starting to have to give in because guys are just not going on for their masters of PhDs in Science anymore.
