Getting really good reviews. I'll try and dig out the Metro one from this morning.

I need to persuade the OH to go and see it.

I'm tone over this, always been a fan of Cornish since the early Adam and Joe days, but it looks like it could be quite bad in places, might go see it but will depend because there are other things I want to see first.

I've also been a Cornish fan since the Adam & Joe Show days (their radio show was great, too), and I've heard good things about this one. Pegg, Wright, Frost and Serefinowicz have been enthusing about it on Twitter, as well.

Could be good!

I have seen this film, and enjoyed it a lot.

As a sci-fi-horror-comedy it's not overly thought-provoking, not the scariest, and not the most laugh-out-loud film I've encountered. However, it's a fun and entertaining flick, which oozes charm, has some great dialogue, and the direction had snappy set pieces and "jumps" in the right places.

The largely unknown cast members were excellent and well supported by Nick Frost doing what comes naturally. The performances sold the film for me - the actors felt at ease in their roles, the performances slowly grew on me, and I eventually felt compelled to root for the likeable central characters. The actor playing Moses in particular was very charismatic and helped carry the film. I hope they all go on to greater and bigger things.

The film kept me engaged, amused, thrilled and shocked in the right combination. I loved it, and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a fun time at the cinema. A great first feature for Joe Cornish, and here's hoping he makes more great movies.

Wow, I guess hardly anyone saw this.

I saw it over the weekend, thought it was pretty badass. It deserves more attention than it gets. Not a great film by any stretch, but a lot of fun and worth seeing.

Anyone else here seen it since this thread died a quiet death the better part of a year ago? :(

Saw it, thought it was OK but really not what I expected, didn't get a chance to see it again to see what I thought on second viewing, but would like to.

The FX of the aliens looked pretty good. Nick Frost was good as usual, although I found the kid protagonists really annoying. Trust.

I saw it about a month ago, and I'm right with you. I agree with Zion that Moses carries the picture for the most part. It isn't Shaun of the Dead, and I suspect that's part of how it was received and forgotten, which is a shame. It's a bit more Goonies than that, but with a bit of a social edge.

I enjoyed the way Moses was the central character yet performed in such an understated fashion. Although the film was pretty light, his transformation from petty thug into a young man taking responsibility for his actions was pretty impressive, and it was sold without being melodramatic.

Well it was very much advertised as being Shaun of the Dead like here, and so you went in expecting that, but it turned out to be more of a Horror Comedy/Creature Feature along the lines of Critters and the like. Probably would have been more well liked if advertised correctly.

I'm a fan of Adam and Joe too during their TV years. The movie wasn't bad but I have little sympathy for the characters. Ok, they are shown to be just kids who have social problems and such and it shows a different side to them than how the media portrays them but I don't find their actions redeeming since it took an Alien invasion to change them. Doesn't change the fact they preyed on and mugged a innocent woman and don't really come to regret it.

I'm half and half on the characters. On the one hand I could see what Cornish was doing and trying to show something real about these kids but for this type of movie I don't believe they are suited to the heroic role.

Before my Blockbuster video recently closed down this one always had its many copies rented out so it caught on in my neck of the woods. I thought the alien was pretty cool and original for a low budget flick. The tone reminded me of Shaun, Zombieland and the like. The council estate kids were fun though I had to use subtitles and google to understand their accents and slang sometimes. Rasclaat, for example.

I'd like to see it, but haven't had the chance to yet. Maybe Blockbuster is selling a used copy; I'd pick it up for 5 bucks.

I heard about this over a year ago, and was looking forward to seeing it. Then, it never came here. Finally, a few weeks ago, it showed up at the local independent theater at a midnight showing, so I went with a small group. We all loved it. So much so that when I found out it was on DVD, I snapped up a copy ... and I'm limiting DVD purchases these days, with everything being on Netflix.

Low budget, but FUN, with characters who are fully-developed and engaging. 5 stars for me.

Yeah, I think quite a bit of the crowd here would like it, if they could just get a copy or find a friend who does. Definitely deserves more attention than it got.

I liked it. Quite a good directorial debut from the boy Cornish, I thought.

My wife and I rented Attack the Block from our local video store on a two night rental. We liked it enough that we watched it both nights.
