Asteroids...the movie???

I hope they're true to the storyline of the original game.

In other news, Warner has bought the rights to a bunch of Midway games:

Mortal Kombat, Pac-Man, Rampage, Joust, Space Invaders, Spy Hunter and more.

I would love to see another attempt at a Mortal Kombat movie. I loved the first movie, but it was a little campy. I'd love to see a really awesome and epic Mortal Kombat film.

Never mind all this shit, I want a Gauntlet movie.

It'd be like your standard D&D-style swords & sorcery thing, ...:guffaw:

No, it should be shot entirely from a bird's eye view.

How about a Ghosts and Goblins movie, where the hero loses his armor easily and then runs around in underwear, but never finishes the quest because it's too hard.

Gauntlet?

THOR: "Wizard, your life force is running out!"

QUESTOR: "Valkyrie shot the food!"

Basing the movie on my inner monologue when playing the game..

player one:

*gasp* A ship! DIE DIE DIE!!!!!!!!

*swhoooooooshhh...* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhh...

KABOOOOM..

The end.

It's time for a faithful Bad Dudes big screen adaptation!

What could be more thrilling than two random street thugs who decide it's their duty to rescue the kidnapped President... by going after him on foot?

How about a Sinistar movie? Although they may be on a tight budget and have to use a disembodied floating head of a poodle or Pomeranian instead.

A few years ago, the people who put out AD&D had a pretty cool Buck Rogers RPG out. There were three video games (in the then-current AD&D style) and a bunch of regular RPG materials. I'm not into RPGs, really, but I bought most of this stuff because it was so cool. I think a nifty series of movies could be made out of that gaming world.

Wow, that's silly.

I'm more interested in seeing a movie on Pitfall or Lode Runner.

I don't see how you could turn Pitfall into anything but an Indy/Tomb Raider clone.
Yeah, I thought about that a little after I made that post and realized, despite my love for the game (both versions), there's very little difference between Pitfall and Indiana Jones.

Lode Runner, on the other hand, could prove to be pretty interesting between the laser gun that temporarily disintegrates matter and the idea of monks being madly violent.
