Asteroids...the movie???

Eh. I would have preferred a game based on Maelstrom or Lunatic Fringe for that matter. Both would be better movie names anyway!

Okay, score one for Hollywood. They made me track down an OSX-compatible driver for Lunatic Fringe anyway.....

I'm still waiting for a movie version of Leather Goddesses Of Phobos. :(

I'm still waiting for "Horace Goes Skiing: The Movie" starring Ricky Gervais and India de Beaufort. :bolian:

Aren't they making movies based on Monopoly and The Sims?
Somehow, yes, they are. I can't really see how but I'm not a Hollywood exec with a BS in b.s. Monopoly I can kind of see a story but what I'm seeing is more a group of greedy wealthy business owners competing to buy up the property of some location, and that has absolutely no need to tie into Monopoly. The Sims? Anyone can make a "movie" out of what you do in that and some people try to recreate movies in it so who knows what their plans for that are.

Asteroids, same thing. It's a triangle shooting weird blocks. It's the asteroid scene from Star Wars all over again simplified into pixels.

Never mind all this shit, I want a Gauntlet movie.

It'd be like your standard D&D-style swords & sorcery thing, except at random moments a smarmy voice would come out of nowhere and go "Remember, don't shoot food!" or "That was a heroic effort!" :guffaw:

My first thought upon hearing this news was "Didn't we already get that with Armageddon?". As bad as it may sound, I'm genuinely curious how this is going to work (if at all). I am also dying to see if they work in the original game's graphics into a monitor somewhere in the background. :)

"Green Elf needs food, BADLY!"

"Oops....someone shot the food."

"Red Warrior is about to die..."

"I've not SEEN such bravery!"
