Assuming This Movie Is A Hit, What Do We Call The New Timeline?

You know what? No fucking way was Sinestro Hal Jordan's first mentor in the Corps - when GL first encountered him he'd already been banished to Qward for his crimes.

I remember it very well. Of course, that was about fifty years ago, and the Geoff Johns version of the story is much better. So Sinestro was Hal's mentor. I'm cool with that.

It's all make-believe.

The Abramsverse.

Fancy new seating. No RSVIP required.

But the drinks HAVE changed.

I think I'll stick with Star Trek and Old Star Trek.

I hear you, but it's confusing - it's the flip side of the "don't call Star Trek TOS" coin. Star Trek will always be taken by most people to refer to whatever part of the Franchise they're most familiar with.

Star Trek.
and
The Abomination.

"Abomination" is no way to talk about a TV series that starred William Goddamn Shatner. ;)

...
...
demmit.
I was going to leap in with some properly frothish fanatic response thingie, but that was just so damn funny that I couldn't stop chuckling, which totally ruined the whole flamish vibe I was working up to.
" Klingon bastard! You killed my [froth]!"
sigh.

I've already had the pleasure(yes,it was a pleasure imo)of seeing the flick, and while i STRONGLY feel that the new tv preview saying "This is not your father's Star Trek", is a half-truth at the very best, it's still Star Trek and will be instantly recognizable to both new and old Trek fans instantly. It has more action than most Trek flicks, but it's been A LONNNNGGG time since we've had a Trek film with ALOT of action, and imo this type of Trek film was needed. It's not going to make everyone happy, but it's going to make most current Trek fans happy long before it will non Trek fans.

Whooaaa... okay let's back this up a few pages, right the way down the drive way, back in the garage... Now I don't know what everyone's looking at, but I know I'm looking at gleaming '67 mustang with some serious horse power under the hood, and bucket seats, to enjoy the ride.

The thread's title - ''Assumming this movie is a hit - '' let's stop there, granted this thread is regarding how we go about discussing the different timelines, but assuming the movie will be a hit... didn't the cast of Star Wars back in '77 make that mistake... 'This' movie will be a monster hit!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I feel so much better now

PRENERO = Before Nero screwed things up.

POSTNERO = duh.
