Assignment Earth series (small spoiler alert)

Anybody else reading the Assignment Earth series from IDW Publishing? So far only the first two of the total five are available, but they have been pretty good so far. Issue one has Mr. Seven, Roberta, and Isis foiling a Russian plot to sabotage a nuclear bomb test, and Issue Two has our "secret agents" observing the events of "Tomorrow Is Yesterday".

So, anybody else reading this series?

^ Actually, #3 came out this week, along with, apparently, the next issue of pretty much every other Star Trek comic series known to man. :D

(At least, that's how it was at my local comics shop.)

I've been enjoying it, for the most part. Of course, it helps that I'm also a big Gary Seven fan.

I didn't care for the episode "Assignment: Earth" but I have enjoyed the comic series. I haven't had a chance to read #3 yet although I did pick it up. I generally like John Byrne's work, and this has been one of his better projects in recent years, IMO.

Is that black cat in it? I'm a fan of anything with cats.:techman:
Yep. Isis is a significant supporting presence in all, moreso in the latest one. :)

I'm usually more of a book fan than comic one, but these latest IDW Trek series are fantastic.

I loved their roles in the two Eugenics Wars books, but I haven't gotten the chance to get the comics yet. Sounds pretty exciting.

IDW's shipment was held back last week so all the shops got two weeks worth of stuff from them this week, though I do wish they could stagger the books so that there's something fun every week, I wouldn't mind if we only got one Trek title at a time, if it meant we could get something every 7 days.

^ I heard that was the plan. *googles* Or at least, I read that on Memory Beta. "With the launch of their Second Stage titles they upped production to four issues a month, intending to deliver a new comic almost every week." But the best plans of mice.

I think it's because IDW prints their stuff in South Korea instead of Canada that their comics come out in "batches." Combine the shipping costs across the Pacific into a single burst, instead of accruing shipping costs on a weekly basis.

#3 is out already? Sweet :bolian:. I'll go look for it.
