As of Right Now Star Trek is the number one movie for 2009!

Saw a midday showing trying to find Artoo. Couldn't make out the little bastard. Wanted to do my part. Enjoyed the damned film again. Only guy in the theater, though. However, the Sawgrass still has two screens for this thing. It's still drawing the casual moviegoer for evening business.
Don't laugh. This is exactly the kind of stunt Spielberg would pull if he wanted to convince Paramount that he had an idea to keep sucking the life out of one of his franchises.
Remember-Colonel Spalko didn't exactly "die" in the last film. We just thought she did. Her "essence" was spirited away with the Alien Timeship. Now suppose Irina Spalko shows up in the 23rd century as Gary Mitchell on steroids?
How would you figure out who she was and how to beat her? Why, the old slingshot the E around the Sun Back to 1962 to grab the only sumbitch who knows what makes her tick: Henry "Indiana" Jones.
Unfortunately, that means grabbing "Mutt" Williams too, but we can put him in a nice, new red shirt. You know, like Jar Jar...
To quote a great movie, "I don't think that means what you think it means."
"Military intelligence" is an oxymoron.
"Religious scientist" is an oxymoron.

American Culture, though you may not like it, is not a contradiction.
There is a difference between "opinion" and "fact". Or is that confusion just another deficiency of the American culture?
With Star Trek and Transformers lighting up the box office, I wonder if anyone at Paramount is thinking... crossover?
Well, the writers know the material. Maybe they can fix those plot holes this time around.

I don't see Avatar being a top movie. Not enough people know what it is. People are getting bored with Harry Potter. I see it like this...

Well come on folks. We already know we have the Number One movie of the year in terms of quality. No question. So does it matter than we have the Number One money-making movie? Umm... Hell yeah!
No we don't. That's your opinion, not an objective fact. There is disagreement about that on these boards, hell in every thread about the quality of the movie.
I don't know how you can say people are getting bored of HP when the lst movie was the second most successful film of the series.
There is general agreement in the real world about the excellent quality of the movie; there is over-represented disagreement here on the board.
