Arts and Crafts Thread

as is the shark =)
Cool stuff, Astra! When did you do them? Over here in Western Germany, painted stones were very popular in the late 60s and early 70s.
Using half peas is ingenious!

The Turtles!!! :adore:

Those turtles are adorable. :)

Thank you all!

I was born in 1973, I did it mostly during the Eighties! Whenever we were at vacation at the Baltic Sea, I collected more stones. My poor father wondered why the suitcases were always so heavy LOL We travelled by train back then, and had to change trains a few times. And suitcases didn't have wheels yet. This is all stuff from last century - no wait, last millennium! I'm afraid we all have gotten old ;)

There's nothing wrong with collecting stuff. I've still got rocks and seashells I collected in British Columbia over 40 years ago.

I decided to have some fun with a former apartment manager here. There's a strict "no dogs allowed, even to visit" policy here, so I casually mentioned to her one day that I'd bought a couple of dogs. While she was working herself up into a fit of apoplexy, I carried on about how they were small, inexpensive to feed, quiet - no barking - and would be no trouble to take for walks, and my two cats didn't mind them at all.

She was clearly trying to figure out why I'd actually tell her I was committing an offense that would get me evicted, when I finished with, "and they're the most gorgeous pet rocks I've ever seen - one is a beagle, and the other is a pug. They just came in the mail the other day."

This woman had NO sense of humor on a good day, and was relieved that I hadn't bought any real dogs. I'm not sure how she would have handled the situation if anyone with a service dog wanted to move in here. By law, service dogs are allowed everywhere, even in "no dogs allowed" apartment buildings.

Thank you. The laser cutter did most of the heavy lifting though.

Next up on my docket, refining the generative algorithm I wrote that output these lovely images:

Thank you! I would need to find a way to print them properly, you can't do it at home as the paper would well up with so much ink. Needs thicker cardboard type.

I found this in a shop:

Stronger cardboard propably wouldn't fit into your printer. Couldn't you simply paint it with watercolours or airbrush it? This way you'd get very smooth changes from one colour to the next.

(totally off-topic but the spots on that suitcase reminded me: are you going to join the mini-convention in Deggendorf next month? This time Terry Farrell is the guest star. There's usually a fan group from Dresden - from some RPG I believe, or a Trek Dinner Club - so that you could perhaps get a lift. It'd be fun to meet IRL.)

(I've only watched TOS so far so have no interest in other actors at the moment, sorry)

Here is something I am working on at the moment. Making background props for my action figures. "Gotham" is the latest fandom I joined, and I made some steel pillars for the police precinct:

I also made this from an old can of sweets, an old cheese box and some wire mesh. This will become an old abandoned warehouse when it's finished:

awesome!!
If you ever build a lab let me know - I have one (a real one, I mean) and can send you detailed pics of all the equipment.

Thank you for the offer! I don't think I'll do a whole lab, but I do have a lab table and equipment which is so cute! The table was a model kit that I had to put together myself, so I can post it in here ;)

And today I made pipes! "Gee, if only I had something to make pipes from..." - but wait, I do! The leftovers from the model kit! I thought I might need it again one day, didn't think it would be so soon! The green things are plastic beads from my childhood, cut in half. The red wheel is a leftover from the inside of a Kinder surprise egg, the white wheel used to be the steering wheel of a toy tractor I had as a child.
