ARTICLES ... some questions

Hi there. I'm finally reading Articles of the Federation. On page 17/18 I stumbled over a few mentionings.

- Siguhara is studying a neutron star
- Starbase 10's reporting some indications of Borg remains along the Romulan border
- U.S.S Enterprise investing reports of Breen incursions
- U.S.S. finding ancient machinery on Gorak IX

Are those events described in novels?

The Enterprise's investigation of Breen incursion will be seen in TNG: Resistance by J.M. Dillard.
Well, that never happened, did it?
Well now, someone's gonna have to write that story then, aren't they? Be it an eBook or short for another anthology.

I guess a certain writer/editor just forgot that little tidbit?????

That was from an earlier draft of Resistance. It didn't make the final cut, and I forgot to change the annotations. *sheepish grin*

Thanks for the annotations. They're great but I'd love to have them printed into the book instead. However, I do realize that it's a novel and not a research book that has to state its sources. :-)

I can just imagine the reaction: "OMG! This book has footnotes?" Exeunt customers.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Though I don't think it would be practical for annotations to be included in the print versions, I think it would be pretty cool if they can be incorporated into the e-book version somehow. Maybe an indicator of some sort on words that have an associated annotation that you can click on, then the tidbit of info appears in a pop up?

I'd definitely consider purchasing an e-book if something like that was offered.

It would have cool to see the Breen in Resistance. That would tie in with what Cole said in Abyss about the Breen being useful in a future Borg attack.

But the timing wouldn't have worked out. The reference in AotF to the E-E investigating Breen incursions was in January, not too long after the finale of NEM. Whereas Resistance is explicitly set several months after NEM.

Considering that almost all the ST authors providing online annotations to their ST stories have had to make minor corrections to their notes as they have been pointed out by fans, the beauty and efficiency of HTMLed footnotes are revealed!

So why not collect all annotations at one website?
Memory Beta would make totally sense.

^^Memory Beta already has links to the various annotations pages in the articles for the individual novels. So if, for instance, you wanted to find the annotations to The Buried Age, you'd just go to the entry for that book, scroll to the links section, and click on the annotations link.

That's great, but is there a master list of all the books and short stories with annotations?
