The book would make an excellent TV series.

I am 3/4 the way through AOTF and I don't really care for it. I guess I don't have that west wing behind the scenes stuff in me when my TNG cast isn't around. Interesting, but not on my recommend list.

Maybe an AOTF story can be in one of the trade paperback story collections. Those usually have a theme it would have to fit in though.

This was the book that propelled me into the rest of the Star Trek lit. At the time, I had never really seen The West Wing, but I now have all 7 seasons on DVD and am currently mid-way into season 5 and absolutely love the series. It makes me wonder if I'd have even greater appreciation for the novel after having seen the style of this show.

KRAD gave me a copy of Articles of the Federation at Comic-Con the year it came out, and I'm pleased to say that (along with the first Vanguard novel) it's the book that got me back into Star Trek published fiction. I had to go out and get the entire A Time To... series and the first Titan book, and at that point there was no going back. So the book may not have sold well (which is a damned crime), but it certainly did inspire a bunch of other sales - from me, at least!
