Originally Dahj was supposed to be Data's cat, not Data's Daughter, but after the dire reviews of the film, they decided the CGI just wasn't there.

Unfortunately, the CGI they used to replace the cat with Isa Briones isn't perfectly seamless either. When Dahj is getting dissolved by the acid, you can briefly see her whiskers and some tabby hair on her sides glitching through for a few frames. And I've heard rumors that some viewers of the test screenings complained about the way Soji sometimes just randomly started coughing up hairballs and kept knocking Narek's things off the shelves.

I was upset they didn't showcase Worf's painting of "Targs Playing Poker," but noooo … it's always about Data.
