I'm currently painting the windows on mine too.. Referencing some of the lit windows from my paused scenes of the ship from my TNG dvd's...

I've finally completed painting the windows on my Ent-D! It looks more like a model kit than a toy now.. I skipped the neck, will wait for the decal sheet from Art Asylum if they ever do it that is... Nevertheless, the Art Asylum Ent-D has come to life with the "lit" windows!!!

Some shots of I took of the Ent-D with some blinding lens flare....lol.... A nod to JJ Abrams use of lens flare in the new movie.. I'm one of the few that actually like his lens flares.... Also, note that the lens flare in the photos are natural and is from a nearby light source and they are not photoshopped :-)

Oh yes, the future is definitely bright....

Anyone has any idea what is the scale of the Art Asylum Ent-D? Is it roughly a 1/1400 scale?

Free Enterprise D Decal Offer

Upon receipt we will enclose multiple copies of each decal to allow for a small degree of trial-and-error application - which should be assisted by our handy Decal Application Guide, now live on the Art Asylum blog.

We'll be monitoring this offer until the end of 2009, so if you'd like to give your Enterprise D that little extra detailing, make sure you get your Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope on its way!

The end result in the photo looks kinda out of proportioned though probably due to the thick grey horizontal lines at the neck area that still remain visible once the decal is applied and some windows are overlapping the photon torpedo bay at the neck area..

I have the AA Ent-E and the ERTL Ent-E. The AA is slightly smaller, about an inch shorter, so I'd say 1/1500. I read that the Art Asylum E-D is the same scale as their E-E, but I don't have a AA E-D to confirm. I just measured my ERTL E-D and it's 18.5 inches long and 13.25 wide.

Judging by the curve of the windows at the left edge of the decal, and the curve of the front of the neck of the ship, I'd say you put the decal on just a little bit to low. That's probably why there are windows on the torpedo bay and docking port door area. I do agree that the windows look a little small due to the thick grey lines behind them...

First things first, that photo is not my enterprise with the decal.. Its from the art asylum blog that is linked above in my previous post. I have yet to send my self addressed stamped envelope yet...lol..

Thanks! It took me lots of time and patience to paint those windows.. The end result makes it really worthwhile..

Why don't you try to get it online through eBay etc...? Oh and btw, the JJ Abrams Enterprise is not crap!!! Lol...
