Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths to be 5-Part Crossover

Could someone here who is good at picking out music keep an ear out for the musical easter egg's that were hinted at on page 63?

The Crisis doesn't rewrite time; it destroys the existing universe and remakes it.

In order for the Crisis TV crossover to do what people are expecting it to, every series involved in it would have to undergo a full-stop hard reset and effectively be cancelled for a week or two before coming back with brand-new stories, which isn't going to happen.

No, it DOES rewrite time, well the comics version did... at the end of Crisis, people woke up in the middle of their lives. Those NOT involved in the fight knew what happened. And even those who DID remember for a while... their memories faded...except for Psycho Pirate. They already aired THAT scene, so there might be other ways someone can remmeber...i am guessing Legends, with its irreverence, will break that 4th wall for us on occasion.

Like i said, Batwoman and even Black Lightning have stories which can work in either pre OR post Crisis, so not much to retcon

Also, came across this ENtertainment Weekly article, while trying to find the video clip of Jennifer and Lynn. https://ew.com/tv/2018/03/20/black-lightning-arrow-verse-connection/

Especially interesting:
So let’s get back to what’s actually been said on record about Black Lightning being part of the Arrow-verse. Shortly after Black Lightning was added to The CW lineup, network boss Mark Pedowitz made it clear the show was not in the multiverse. “Black Lightning, at this time, is not part of the Arrow-verse. It is a separate situation,” he said. Black Lightning executive producer Salim Akil subsequently told EW that “everything is possible,” but they planned to establish the character first. In other words, both hedged in a way where a crossover could be possible in the future, but much like Supergirl did in its first season, they want to world-build their own story before doing any crossovers. Only time will tell if Black Lightning will, therefore, join the rest of the heroes next season during the annual crossover event.

A later interview Akil made it clear it was separate. Seems little different than this story... confusing... but i think the thing is that Black Lightning needed to be built, on its own, by its creators. But now, it might be time to join the fold...especially if the ratings right now might be such that it needs ratings boost.

In an interview I read somewhere it sounded like the people in charge of The CW insisted Black Lighting be part of this year's crossover, so I'm not entirely sure it was the show's producers choice to have them involved. I think it's pretty telling that we are getting the character or multiple characters in Crisis, but they aren't getting an actual episode.

Ooh! Ooh! Could Batwoman meeting elderly "needs an exoskeleton" Bruce mean that they could switch her series into a modern-day "Batman Beyond"?

Kevin Conroy Bruce as mission control for another inheritor of the Bat legacy who wears a suit with a red logo?

So a while back Guggenheim stated that Warner wouldn't let them use John Williams's Superman theme in "Crisis" (inexplicably, since it's turned up everywhere from Smallville to Krypton), but he just tweeted that "a lot has changed" since he said that. :techman:

Okay, not watching that, and going to try to avoid any more news and discussion for the next few days. A headline already spoiled one big moment from that trailer, and I want to save something for the actual show. See you after Tuesday's cliffhanger!

He's meant to be 'Kingdom Come' Batman but I like that - kind of a merger of both ideas

Will Wheaton?

A couple of the photos of Osric Chau as Ryan Choi have him with hair and a beard like that, but yeah, that does look and sound like Wheaton. Also, he's in National City, therefore Earth-38, and we know that at least one Ryan Choi is a native of Earth-1 (he will invent Barry's Flash-costume ring in the future).

In the "Death of Superman" shot, even though it's Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois grieving over him, Superman is not wearing the Earth-38 Superman's costume, so it must be a doppelganger.

What are those flying blue or green creatures with the raggedy capes? At first I thought Parademons, but they don't look anything like them. I wondered if they were Martians fleeing to Earth-38 after Mars was destroyed, but evidently not, given that the heroes are fighting them in later shots (and even Superman is killing them, which is disquieting unless they're some kind of unliving entities).

Black Lightning: again, a lot of this is isolated to Freeland. The Markovian thing -- there might be some treaties or something , and some other government stuff, to excuse who no one has come to help. I can totally picture the show, pretty much in tact, as being in a post-Crisis Earth. (The mention of what was it, Vixen and SUpergirl... i think could EASILY be interpreted as being real, as Jennifer seemed to believe her mom)

That's the point: until now, in the Black Lightning world, Supergirl was just a comic book character (and an ad for the Slater Blu-ray), and never said to be real.

Also Black Lightning was an urban legend, like Batman, until recently. So he hasn't made any Super Friends outside of his hometown ... yet.

Any merger with the other series' universes would spell doom for Black Lightning and all its core creators/showrunners have invested into creating a fairly serious, politically mature, unique voice that cannot be expressed on the others shows (not that that was ever going to happen in any case). At its heart, they are the foundations that make Black Lightning stand out, not villain of the week/season, bad CG monsters and throwaway characters.

Batwoman: she also just got started, and Gotham centric for now. So, a post-Crisis world for her is easy to imagine. And Batman was an urban legend, so the hero isolation until now is understandable.

Like Black Lightning, Batwoman has a strong voice of its own, and plays closer to the darker side of life than the majority of the other series. Its is what one would expect out of a Bat-based show, where its not overflowing with CG monsters and concepts that are not within the still-growing detective skillset of the heroine.

I imagine some earths will still be around, like Earth X...maybe Earth 3. Sure would like to see a REAL evil doppelganger universe...one where there could some battles over the years

"over the years?" Which show do you see lasting years beyond 2020?

I promise -- any merger will NOT be as bad as you fear.

Yes, it is. Its like merging Teen Titans Go with The Invisibles and expecting it to flow naturally. The language differences are that far apart.

None of this is persuasive as a reason to merge anything. It certainly explains how it could be done—still doesn’t offer a “why?” that would materially improve upon the status quo, whereas the shrinking, if not downright disappearance, of the multiverse diminishes storytelling possibilities.

Mergers of the CW series would improve nothing. Instead, the superior shows would lose their voice and edge to fall in line with the weaker series, all in the name of crossovers.

Conroy's Bruce could possibly be Earth-1's Bruce since he and Kate recognize each other.
Or they look the same on both Earths.

One of my favorite bits in COIE is the E-2 Superman waking up in Clark Kent's apartment on the merged Earth, unaware of where he is. He winds up at the Planet and makes him self at home in Perry's office (he's an Editor on his Earth) until Perry shows up.

Is it possible that the Black Lightning we're seeing in the promos is from yet another Earth, and not the one from the show?

Since no one has picked up the rights for the series yet, the UK will not get the Batwoman episode of Crisis on Infinite Earths. According to the article on Io9 the other four shows all air on Sky One.
I wonder if they'll get some kind of extra recap to cover what happens in it or if they'll just miss whatever plot points it develops?
I remember this happening to one of those CSI crossovers and they just showed the the episode as a one off. They might do the same thing here.

The article I linked had a direct quote from one of the Sky One officials saying that they are not showing it.
