Spoilers Arrow - Season 4

Here's Stephen at SD Comic Con.

"Dressed in green."

Something weird about that video. It looks like it was shot with a mounted camera and then had a black frame applied afterward to fake the appearance of a handheld cell phone video. The image just stays too rigidly upright as the frame slides back and forth. A real cell video would be wobblier.

Diggle gets a costume, yay! And Mr. Terrific is "the show's first gay character" -- what about Sarah and Nyssa? Does the word "gay" no longer encompass lesbians in current usage? (It seems to in discussions of "gay marriage.") Whatever the terminology, I'm glad these shows continue to be inclusive.

Unless I misheard it - on the panel they said 'next LGBT character'.

Technically, Sara was/is bisexual. And I clearly can't recall wether or not Nyssa was bi or gay. So, if she was bi as well, then the term 'first gay character' still applies.

Having said that, since it was stated the SDCC panel said 'next LBGT character', and TVLine misreported it, the point becomes moot anyway.
I just think it's great we're seeing more and more representation like this. :)

I think a Legends of Tomorrow crossover is all but guaranteed.

Has anybody seen the picture of Willa Holland as Speedy?

This begs the question of course, if Oliver has the new Green Arrow costume now, why is he still wearing the old one for recruiting the Legends? Will they refilm that scene or was that just for the promotional clip?

I think there will be crossover elements going on fairly frequently. To start with, both existing shows will set up characters for Legends in the first part of the season (including bringing Ray and Sara back), and will then do a big crossover in December that will lead into the premiere of Legends in midseason. I'm sure that won't be the end of the interaction among the shows.

I suspect the latter -- that it was a non-canonical scene that was just to give a feel for the concept. There may be something similar to it in the actual pilot, but I doubt it'll be quite the same. I suppose it's like a lot of movie teaser trailers these days -- they often have material that's shot specifically for the trailer and not intended to be in the fim at all.

They've already said it was filmed just for the trailer.

^Of course it was filmed for the trailer, we know that by now. But that doesn't necessarily mean the scene was written for the trailer. It could've been a preliminary version of a scene they intend to reshoot for the pilot, or it could've been an entirely unique scene intended just to sell the concept. I suspect it's the latter, but elements of it may be incorporated into other scenes in the pilot.

I predicted on here that scene would not be included in an actual episode a while back. They had been hinting we would never wear his original suit again. Plus its likely The Flash's too. At Comic Con a suit with the traditional logo was shown. Its not exactly like the future version of himself he met. That was also bright red only altered on a computer.

Hard to know much of that teaser reel makes the show. In that scene Barry and Oliver already know Rip Hunter. Oliver knows of Savage. Both are likely set up on Arrow and Flash before Legends airs. Obviously Oliver knows Sarah is alive again before this.

I am curious how Legends itself starts. With a similar scene of the group introduced to Hunter? Or is that a tease on Arrow or the Flash to get viewers to watch Legends? The Producers and writers may not even be sure at this point. As production of the new seasons of the current shows progress ideas and plans may evolve and change.

The scene as filmed clearly won't be in the final episode, but the dialogue in it might be based on something that will be in the pilot. Or maybe it's a distillation of stuff from several scenes, or maybe it's entirely made-up.

Again, what we actually get will probably be different from this scene to a greater or lesser extent. But yes, at least some of the foundations of the show will be set up in advance, mostly in the December Flash/Arrow crossover.

Filming on Legends begins next month, so I'm sure they've got the first few scripts written by now.

Glad to hear they're still working to incorporate Constantine; it's what I hoped would happen. But I'm uneasy about the use of "him," as though Ryan is the only cast member they're interested in. I'd definitely love to see more of Angelica Celaya. And I wouldn't mind getting some resolution of Constantine's lingering plot threads.

I suppose that, to start with, we'd probably just see Constantine showing up to advance Arrow's story arc. But maybe if it went over well, they'd give him more appearances and maybe work in some of the other characters and threads. But I guess it could be tricky, since we're talking about two different writing staffs. Would the Arrow staff be willing to invite a Constantine writer or two to come in and contribute to the crossover episodes? Would the Constantine showrunner be willing to let the Arrow staff pick up the arcs? I suppose those may be part of the "political" stuff that Mericle said they have to sort out, though she was probably talking more about networks and rights and the like.

A Constantine appearance may yet still happen.

"Yeah, we really want to do it," said Mericle. "It's something we've been talking to DC about and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen."

"Fingers crossed," added Amell.

"But we're really optimistic and we would love to have him," said Mericle.
I really hope they can work this out. I would love to see them bring Constantine into the Arrowverse.
I didn't realize they were actually that serious about bring him over. I had always assumed that Amell talking about Constatine was more just joking around or wishful thinking.
