Arrow - Season 2

I don't think it'll be revealed this season unless he gets killed off (which is unlikely).

Though, not unprecedented:

Larry Lance is a private detective working in Gotham City, formerly an officer in the Gotham City Police Department. His wife was Dinah Drake, the Golden Age vigilante Black Canary. They had a daughter together named Dinah Laurel Lance who would succeed her mother in this position. Eventually Lance was killed by Aquarius during a Justice Society adventure.
That was just an excuse to move BC from Earth 2 to Earth 1 and make her available for GA to date.

Does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion that Malcolm Merlyn might have hired Slade to kidnap Thea. I mean Slade had to get his fancy cars and suits from somewhere. And he is a mercenary. Merlyn might have offered Slade a way to get his revenge on Oliver in exchange for procuring Thea.

But so far Slades motive for revenge is non-existent. Ollie was clearly not responsible for Shados death and it was only the drug that convinced Slade otherwise.

Not non-existent, just overblown. I agree the drug is influencing his actions, but only to make him more paranoid and sensitive. Oliver could have saved Shado, but chose someone Slade didn't even know. He did this all while Slade harbored a low-level jealousy of Oliver. In his state, it's possible to view Oliver as simply using Shado and then letting her get killed. I'm not saying the drug has nothing to do with it, I'm just saying that Slade is no longer under an uncontrollable rage because of it, but seems to have channeled that rage into a productive goal, which allows him to control it.

I don't think it'll be revealed this season unless he gets killed off (which is unlikely).

Sure, and he might get killed eventually. I just don't think the plotline of the story supports it yet. If anyone is being set up to die, it's Sarah (which would be a huge shame, but is possible).

While Huntress had a slightly better portrayal in this last episode, I really do hope it is the last time that we will ever see her. Laurel was less annoying this episode too.

Everything else I love. I just hope that when Ollie eventually ends up being forced to tell Detective Lance that he is the Arrow, Lance just acknowledges that he already figured it out. Having Lance being genuinely clueless at this point would be an insult to the character.

We also saw her solo a little bit in the video game Arkham City, and probably will in the sequel Arkham Knight too.

Plus they did bits in the various incarnations of BTAS (including the web animated Gotham Girls) that focused on her and Poison Ivy - so she was quite capable of operating with other people and outside of Mr. J.

That being said, her origin is tied to The Joker. Remember when New Line had the rights to Venom and were going to do a Venom movie involving no connections to the rest of the Marvel universe?

Also keep in mind that the Joker considers her expendable, and only suckers her into thinking he loves her so that she'll do his bidding. If she were caught by a group like this, he'd probably just forget about her until she found a way to escape on her own. Assuming he 1) is still alive himself and 2) doesn't think she died instead, so wouldn't have any reason to believe she'd need rescuing.

Do you think, should she make another appearance, that they'll reference the Joker (or at least Gotham City)?

Doesn't she have her own comic book now?
Yeah, I saw them at a comic con in March, there was several trade paperbacks. I went back to buy them after looking around, but I got lost and couldn't find the table. They looked like really fun adventures.

I'm kind of assuming the Bat-embargo is no longer in place.

The constant references to R'as this season should have been a big hint to that. That being said, I don't consider Harley to be a major Batman villain - nor Nyssa al-Ghul (we're not even talking Talia here).

That being said, this is Arrow, not Batman. I don't want Joker showing up any more than I would want Lex Luthor to do so. Characters of secondary importance or who cross over in the comics make more sense.
