Arrow/Flash Superhero Team-Up Spinoff In Works At CW

Given how fond the producers are of the '90 Flash series, I wonder if they'd cast Tim Thomerson as Jay Garrick. (He played Barry's older brother Jay in the pilot of that series, homaging Garrick.)

Brilliant idea. You are not the first one I have seen suggest it either. This is exactly the type of thing I could see them doing.

I suspect Rip Hunter will show up on The Flash before this even airs. The Reverse Flash mentioned him in the finale. Plus there are so many paradoxes now that it would be the perfect time for him to investigate. Clearly Oliver and Barry know him before the team is assembled.

I wonder how much of the Legends "sizzle reel" will make it into its own first episode or either Arrow or the Flash? Brief clip of it was seen by Barry as glimpses of the future. But I suspect they may reshot some of it as they get closer to its actual use in an episode. Its likely we will never see Oliver in that costume again. That was mostly done to tease what the overall show will be like.

GAHHH! *runs screaming for the brain bleach*

(Although, I would love to see them do a Dinah Lance story...)

"Lance is a professor of Greek and medieval history at Central City
University".

That lends more to Wonder Woman, than Hawkgirl, although the Hawks do have a history of being associated with Museums.

More antiquities (weapons) than paintings and sculpture though. The Hawks love their ancient Earth weapons.

Wow, even I'm starting to think this is getting out of hand.

Its just a RUMOR! Which I am not clear what its based on? That they are spending money on making her a costume? The actress has posted pictures on instagram of the process.

Well Duh! She is appearing in Legends. Someone at that network might be excited about how cool the character is and is jumping the gun. I doubt there are serious discussions on this yet. Its so early! We do no even know if Legends is going to be a regular series.

As nice as it would be to get a female centric Arrowverse series, it seems way to early in the lifetime of LoT for them to already be giving Hawkgirl her own show. I find it hard to believe they would use a new character as a main character for two shows at the same time.

What I meant was the episode count per season. Its been reported that this first season is 13 episodes. If they make more they could make a second season of 13 or make a "regular" or longer season closer to the 23 episode seasons Arrow and the Flash have.

That would certainly factor in any decision to have a 4th series. From production to scheduling. There is a huge overlap in the writing and crew of the current 3 shows. Plus questions of when during the year CW would air a 4th.

Also from what we know Legends starts with a very specific plotline. Hard to know how long they plan to keep it that way. Or they may change the cast with each season. Fox is looking to revive Purcell and Wentsworth's first series Prison Break. Hard to know how that will affect their long term involvement in this.

Okay, the confusion is in the use of "regular." You're using it to mean "standard" or "typical," but when people say "regular series," they usually mean "regular" in the sense of "happening on a consistent schedule," i.e. as opposed to a miniseries, backdoor pilot, or limited series. So I thought that was what you meant.

In any case, the 13-episode length is standard/typical for quite a few series these days. It's too commonplace to be considered abnormal. (Indeed, the typical network-season length since at least the early '90s has been 22 episodes -- the initial 13-episode order plus "the back nine." To have 23 per season is rather unusual.)

Welcome to Hollywood. You get a line of success and they'll milk all the advertising/tie in money they can for as long as they can and do spin off after spinoff, until they've run the idea into the ground and oversaturated the general public; and then they'll move on to the next 'hot' property that takes off and rinse/repeat.

But of course they're only considering possibilities at this point. It's natural enough to look at a range of possible ideas before settling on the ones you want. Look at all the proposed Marvel series that fell by the wayside in recent years, like Guillermo Del Toro's Hulk series or the solo Mockingbird series (or the Mockingbird/Lance Hunter spinoff that was recently proposed and then dropped).

And if you go to foreign or paid cable series the numbers get even lower, I think at least one or two season of Game of Thrones only had 10 episodes, and Sherlock only does three episodes a season.
