Armageddon Vs. Deep Impact.

I personally preferred the slightly-more-believable (slightly) Deep Impact.

This always happens to me whenever two films with similar themes come out at around the same time, I usually prefer the less-popular one. It happened when Ghost and Always came out. Everybody was raving over Ghost, but I thought Always was SOOOOO much better! Of course I'm a sucker for a girl in an A-26.

Thank you.. finally someone who appreciates Always. It has some of my favorite actors of all time.. John Goodman and Richard Dreyfuss and it isn't as sugary sweet as Ghost. Plus.. it has far better humor.

And cool planes. :)
And Audrey Hepburn. :)

Deep Impact. It drew me into the film more. It's tied with Independence Day for me in terms of exciting end of the world sci fi movies.

I like both. Deep Impact is more realistic and goes out of its way to take things seriously, showing how the potential end of the world effects the average person. Armageddon, is a silly overblown summer popcorn flick that isn't meant to be taken serious in any way...it's got a lot of funny moments though and for me, that makes it very re watchable.
I've probably seen both of them a dozen times, though I've likely seen Armageddon more.

Deep Impact was decent enough.

Armageddon... oh the stupidity. Suffice to say the last Michael Bay movie I didn't think was completely and utterly terrible was The Rock.

Deep Impact by a mile. Armageddon was a fun popcorn flick, but DI Had a more realistic feel.

And I like Morgan Freeman as the President.

It may seem likw we have each other over the same barrel,...but it just seems that way.

Yet the rock was completely and utterly terrible. Armageddon restored my faith in Michael Bay.

That's because The Rock is from an era where Michael Bay didn't think explosions were the key to everything, before everything got silly. It's a decent movie, and one of his best.

The Rock is not an inch better than any Bay movie.. cheesy dialogue, cheesy characters, military equipment porn, huge explosions etc.

Bay has one style.. you either like it or you don't.

Yup, I don't. You forgot his inhumane attitude. I remember reading some terrible reviews about Bad Boys 2 in that regard.

CRIMSON TIDE is better than ARMAGEDDON. Tony Scott at his best. ARNAGEDDON is better then DEEP IMPACT, though both are good. ARMAGEDON is a classic compared to THE ROCK, with only Ed Harris to elevate it. ANYTHING is better than DOMINO......even Scott's atrocious PELHAM 123 threemake.
Arnageddon? They made a film about Arnie and the maid?
