Are you Marvel or DC?

Marvel or DC?

I love DC, but I hate most of what DC is doing right now. Basically, I love the DC characters, and I hate the way DC the company is treating them right now. I'm considering dropping the Nu52 titles altogether as soon as Morrison's done with "Action". Still gonna buy paperback collections of pre-Nu52 as well as the "Earth One" books.

Marvel I like, but not love. Not reading any of their titles, currently, though I'm giving Marvel NOW! a chance, especially looking forward "Uncanny Avengers" and the bi-weekly "Avengers" title.

Don't like comics because I find it all OTT to the extreme with too many spinoffs to keep up with (DC reboot withstanding of course) but I love the movies, characters themselves and used to watch some of the cartoons as a kid. However saying all that MARVEL kicks DC's ass all day long though Batman is the best comic book character from either.

I don't read them anymore either, largely because following characters has become so complicated and confusing with all the crossovers, spinoffs, re-imagings etc.

Doesn't bother me though as I have massive Batman, Superman and Spider-man collections that I go back through every now and then.

Personal preference - DC.

Apart from a few graphic novels I don't buy comics from either of them. But still, Marvel by a loooooong way.
I find the DC character lineup pretty... laughable to be honest in comparison.

Back when I read regularly, I would have said DC. But I pretty much gave up on comics after DC started doing all those damn Crises every two or three years. It's impossible for me to keep up, they keep rebooting all the time! :scream:

Make mine Marvel

But the only thing I have bought in decades was the Dark Avengers storyline from a while ago.

I read into the late 90's.

Mainly Marvel, most of the titles.

From DC, mostly Batman & Superman. They had some really amazing graphic novels.

Outside of that, some indies, Dark Horse was the best. Grimjack was always one of my overall favorites.

The extended Elfquest titles too.

Marvel. I'm a huge fan of Avengers, X-Men, Spider-man, and the various related. I do like Batman and some Superman from DC, though.

DC. I just like the large-than-life epic characters without all of these everyday problems or other issues. I want to see Batman kicking ass and Superman being just short of a God.

Though, I do appreciate Marvel's take on things with developing stories and more complicated characters and situations it just doesn't "grab" me as much as DC's stuff does.

A brief history of my history with comics: Back in the 60s, I read everything I could from Marvel, DC and Gold Key, but my favorite books were Fantastic Four and Magnus, Robot Fighter. In the early 70s, when DC Marvelized itself and Gold Key imploded, I went almost entirely Marvel. In the late 70s, when Marvel imploded, I quit comics altogether. In the early 80s, when the direct market came to life, I got back into the hobby, buying from all the various publishers. This continued, in a diminishing fashion, until the early years of the 21st century, when comics in general became so bad that I could stomach no more. Now I wait for them to either die or experience a renaissance.

All in all, Marvel wins.

DC by a long shot, largley due to Batman being my hero since all the way back to the West era. The only time I was ever more into Marvel would have been approximately the Shooter era. Can't say I'm reading much by either company these days, however.

right now...Marvel. i grew up a huge Marvel Zombie. got into DC pretty heavily my senior year of high school and only read only a few Marvel books for the past few years. after Blackest Night i started reading more Marvel stuff, mostly X-Men and Hickmans FF run.

DC although the only comics I read from them are the Batman ones. None of the Marvel characters interest me nor do any of their movies.

Marvel used to be better, but it's taking too many cues from DC nowadays. Going with Marvel anyway.

for me, Superman/Batman, so I'd say DC, ever since back in the mid-80s when i got into the comics, due to "Man of Steel" and "Batman: Year One." But no other superhero, DC or Marvel, has ever interested me. I have every issue of every different run of Batman and Superman since 1986/7. All the way up to today.
