Are you going to buy snacks at the concession?

Probably not. I'll sneak in two footlong subs from Subway...

One in each leg? :p
As for me, I tend toward gummy candy at movies, with a box big enough that it'll last most of the way and give me a stomachache because I shouldn't have eaten all of it (part of the moviewatching experience).

No. It would seem that every time I had a drink, I'd have to get up and go to the restroom in the middle of the movie. So for the past few years I never bought anything.

I always go at the noon showings when no one's around, so they don't even check for my ticket, let alone the crapload of candy I smuggle. I swear, the place is so deserted I could sneak in a camera crew and they wouldn't notice.

I usually sneak in a bag of Smarties in with me. I don't drink during movies because I hate spending half the movie with a full bladder. The Smarties are tart and keep my mouth from getting dry. Or mints work too.

i am with garth. i am used to movie concessions being more expensive but around here it has gotten crazy.
cokes are five times as much as a store and three as much or more as in restaurant.
popcorn the same.
all of my friends who all used to get stuff now dont. we can go out afterward at a sit down mid price restaurant and have a meal for what the concessions would have cost.

...which brings up a point that I've been wondering about. WHO exactly eats Raisinettes? Chocolate covered raisins? Really? Why do they still exist? Why did they ever exist in the first place?
Well, I had a pet rabbit at one point...

I'll bring Nachos with extra extra extra cheese.

Of course I'd have eaten everything by the end of the commercials/trailers...

How exactly is this related to Trek XI? Is this some kind of SNL parody? Really people.......
How about this question.....
Are you going to wear black or brown shoes to the theater when you go to see Trek XI.
Stay focused...keep the eye on ball.
Win one for the Gipper
The other day I saw a green turkey crossing the road. Turns out it was a lump of coal that had lost its way in the forest of everlasting harmony. A disjunct melody signaled the arrival of the Elf King.
The fanfare siunded
The other shoe dropped.
The fat bird took aq dump on the slightly bigger ant.
KHAN KHAN POOP POOP POOP

I've usually wolfed down my popcorn by the time the Forthcoming Attractions bit has finished.

I'll be next to the guy with the big afro and the one who kicks the back of your chair during the boring bits.

Now, where I can get a 'Faith of the Heart' ringtone from? :rommie:

No. I usually bring my own stuff. One of my local theaters has good popcorn and offers neat spices to put on it (curry, nutritional yeast, parmesan), but I doubt they will be showing Trek XI opening night, if at all. I don't eat the garbage they serve at the multiplex.

If they charged just a little less I think people would eat more concessions. People know you aren't going to get a bargain but you don't want to feel like you've been mugged. I simply feel guilty paying that much for food which takes my enjoyment out of eating it. In a strange way, if they charged less I'd pay more. Also, do they have to use the bare minimum acceptable quality food stuffs? If you're going to pay that it should at least taste OK.

If I do decide to drop some cash I will usually get a small soda with a pretzel with mustard or a hot dog depending on my mood.

Depending on the theater I'm in, I usually like to get a medium popcorn to split with my sweetie, and two small sodas. It's a delicate balancing act; I loves me some popcorn, but too much and I'll get sick. And I don't want to have a full bladder half-way through the movie, but no drink, and my mouth gets dry from the popcorn.

Of course, that's when I have the extra money for it. Theater concessions cost so much, that sometimes I just have to go without.

But I loves me some popcorn.

I had some Raisinettes... in 1988. :alienblush:

Normally I would just sneak some chocolate in but for Star Trek I'm not holding back. I'll get a large bag of toffee popcorn, a large bag of Maltesers and the biggest Fanta Orange with lots of ice. Even if I waste most of it, it'll be worth it. :D
