Well, yeah, but this is the Sports Forum. We're talking about going to sporting events, not going to work. Economic concerns are genuine, but not what we're talking about here.

And on that note, I've never been a big sports event goer myself, but I always meant to catch a rugby or polo match in person, or competitive powerlifting or Olympic-style weightlifting meets. So hopefully I'll get the chance in the upcoming year (assuming vaccinations become commonplace by summer, and phased re-openings proceed as hoped for).

Fair enough. Short answer, yes. I am as or more likely to attend public sporting events.

This is where it is problematic to say that sporting events or many other activities we're used to should return to normal too quickly. COVID is beginning to overwhelm health care infrastructure. If one doesn't care than much for themselves I'll never understand, but there also other humans, possibly relatives or other loved ones, whose lives may be affected by flaunting the virus.

Oxygen issues in Los Angeles County...

https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/29/us/california-hospital-oxygen-covid/index.html

Instead, at some area hospitals, aging infrastructure that pumps oxygen to patient rooms is unable to keep up with the high number of patients needing oxygen.
"They're not able to maintain the pressure in the pipe to maintain oxygen delivery at that high level of pressure that's required to be delivered through the high-flow oxygen delivery vehicles," Ghaly said. "Because of that high flow through the pipes, sometimes it's freezing in the pipes, and obviously if it freezes then you can't have good flow of oxygen."

Another challenge, Ghaly said, is that several supply companies have a shortage of the actual oxygen canisters that patients can take home once discharged from the hospital. Without the canisters, patients who might otherwise be able to go home -- and free up a bed and health care workers' time -- have to stay in the hospital.

Los Angeles County Department of Health Services confirmed that several hospitals have gone on "internal disaster" designation because of oxygen issues, closing themselves off to incoming EMS traffic. The hospitals most impacted are in the eastern areas of LA County and the San Fernando Valley, the department said.

I have one concert ticket, for my favourite band playing my favourite album, which I've never seen them play. It was cancelled last year and rescheduled for mid 2021.

I doubt I'll go, and if that doesn't tempt me, nothing will.

If I get Covid, I have a 99.9 percent chance of recovering.
If I can't pay my rent because my job is gone, my chances of dying of hypothermia from living in my car are probably higher.
That's fine and well, for You. I believe I would fare very well, too. There are several here, though, who would not have a very good chance of surviving without very early intervention and Intensive Care. Diabetics, compromised Immune Systems like Cancer and HIV afflicted, over 65 years old, anyone with compromised breathing (Asthma, Pnuemonia survivors,, long time smokers, genetic defects, etc) (and if they did survive, they would likely have a new debilitating ailment that would plague them for the rest of their days). These are all at risk People and there are many others, so, I hope you are being honest when you say you follow the safety guidelines. Those of us not threatened much by it, owe it to the at risk People we are close to, to ensure we do not catch it, and endanger their lives by infecting them.

I will but not until i'm Vaccinated and if our Vaccines fail then i'm straight back out again.

I do miss my 2nd home, even if my team are shite.
