Who isn't?

I bet everyone who said NO would still piss their pants if they were about to die right now, unless they are suicidal or have other issues.

Having ached so painfully from the utter heartbreaking pain of grief from the loss of loved ones through the years i can tell you the fear of death for me personally pales into significance when dealing with those type of emotions.

I've already faced my fear of my mortality. I don't want to die, but I accept it.

^ Ditto. Death is nothing more than the inevitable conclusion. Why be afraid of that. If it were to come tomorrow I would be pissed about it though. I have never liked leaving things unfinished.

Unlike a lot of people I know, I actually like the idea of my life ending. I believe it makes my time here on this planet mean a little more and something that shouldn't be squandered. That idea also forces me to cherish every moment. For instance, my very religious parents have spent their entire lives so busy preparing for a supposed afterlife that they forgot to live. I refuse to allow that to happen to myself. Every moment is precious. Every second a gift. Each day gives me the chance to evolve as a person and grow into something more.

I do not understand why anyone would fear death?

Emily said it best, "Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me."

We all die. Everything living dies. Why fear it? Why not, like Smurf said, use it as a way to encourage you through life?

Human survival instinct will always kick in at some point, certainly.
It does for a moment but then it passes. I have been there three times now and all three times instinct flashed for a brief second before my own logic took over. Death was a very calm experience for me.

I'll freely admit, while I'm perfectly at peace with the fact that I'll die one day, the thought of dying young, or of a disease like Cancer, scares the crap out of me. Having said that, it's not something that I dwell on with any kind of regularity.

To be honest, I'm more scared of losing my marbles when I get older, than actually dying. Dying is an inevitability, but losing who I am, and not being able to remember the people I love, would be a fate worse than death.

I am. I'm not in constant fear of it, and it's not something I worry about. And I don't fear what comes after or rather, what doesn't. The actual process of dying is what scares me, especially as there are quite a few very unpleasant ways to go.
