Are You a Fan of The Big Bang Theory?

The characters all love Trek (esp TOS, TNG, and DS9) so I wonder you watch Sheldon and the Geeks fairly regular?

I'm not a big sitcom enthusiast. I've seen a few episodes here and there and I think it's a reasonably well-produced show and I tend to appreciate how many millions of people are exposed to Trek references on the regular thanks to all those plugs. But I've never made an effort to keep up with the series.

I've never seen it. That's the one with the "Shazam" logo, or something like that, right?

I don't like it...

BAZINGA!!!

I think it's a good show. :)

Anyone who hasn't seen the program won't get that, but some people here will.

I've seen almost every episode and am looking forward to tonight's new episode.

But would it kill them to show one of the guys reading a STAR TREK novel occasionally? :)

Started following the show in the third season, have seen all the episodes multiple times.

I've seen a few BBT episodes, and I did laugh, but I'm not a fan. It's just not my kind of humor.

Plus, I generally steer clear of shows with laugh tracks. Yes, I know BBT's was actually a live studio audience, but it's hard for me to shake the "fake laughter" motif, so I usually don't watch shows that have laughs in them. (Except for The Red Green Show, when the audience is actually part of the plot.)

I wonder what the production staff would think if you wrote to 'em. Send a letter with a list of all the Trek books you've written, attach a photo of yourself (preferably smiling and in nice clothes) so they know you're not lying, and implore them to have a five-second scene with Sheldon thumbing through the pages of a book you've enclosed. :p

On the other hand, it's a Warner Bros. show, so maybe I'd be better off sending one of my DC Comics books . . . :)

Note how all the merchandise in the comic-book shoppe is from DC, not Marvel.

The shop carries Archie Comics, also Conan the Barbarian with is Dark Horse Comics.

Just saw a old episode where the girls were in the shop and Penny is looking at a Thor comic, most likely Marvel.

I don't know about the comic book store, but they had an entire episode about Stan Lee with him making a cameo, so you can't say they never mention Marvel.

"Ooh. Thor. He's hot!"

I just watched that episode the other day. I don't recall the comic actually being shown on screen.

Well, they definitely reference Marvel heroes like Thor and the Hulk (and Stan Lee) on occasion, but mostly in dialogue. If you check out the set dressing, almost all of the posters and action figures hanging on the walls are DC-related, unless perhaps the script specifically calls for a "Thor" reference or something?

Although I suppose that might just be because all the DC paraphernalia is easier and cheaper for the show to acquire. "Call the guys over at DC and tell them to send us a couple free crates of comics and toys and stuff that we can use to dress the set."

Why pay for Marvel gear when you own DC? (As it happens, the DC offices are just across the street from the Warner Bros. lot where BBT is filmed. It's a short walk.)
