Here's my entry for the April challenge! For the first time in a long while, I got an image stuck in my head and it wouldn't shake loose until it was realized.
Thanks! I figure it kinda goes along with the monolith as an evolutionary tool. And what better way to get people to evolve than to show them Star Trek?
B.J. - Great start. You might want to cut back on the brightness of the image. It appears to wash out the absolute blackness of the monolith (at least on my computer, it may just be my settings).
One suggestion, take it or leave it, IIRC, in 2001 the first monolith we see is during prehistoric times (it has been a while since I saw this movie - shame on me) and one of the primates (for lack of a better term) touches the monolith and gains a semblance of intelligence (which he then uses to turn a bone into a weapon and first act as an intelligent being is to commit murder, but as was said in the Star Wars FaAmily guy - "but I digest").
Playing off of that theme and your interest in showing the monolith as an evolutionary tool that uses Trek to inspire evolution, why not have at least one of the viewers reaching out to touch the monolith?
Again, just a thought. Great work so far. This month's contest is already turning into an interesting blend!
