I mean i think it's a unique take on the vampire mythology of doing something different to the vampire film subgenre for once instead of the same old thing. I love how it incorporates a brilliant concept of how a race of aliens came to Earth a thousand years ago and became the origin to vampires of many legends and myths including Count Dracula. I also like how it gives something different to vampires in the film especially the main lady not to be the mary-stu and gary-stu type vampires of having fangs and sucking blood, not being romantic (Dracula, Edward Cullen and Lestat), not being heroric (Angel), not being eurotrash or even undead creatures that burn when sunlight hits them.
But they still do obtain vampire-like qualities like being in energy crystals like coffins, they can become giant bat-like beasts with fangs and of course killed with spikes through the heart. Who else thinks the film is a refreshing twist to vampires rather than the Ann Rice, Bram Stoker, Twillight, True Blood, Buffy, Angel and other more vampire stuff we seen in the past to today?
But who else thinks the same concept was used in the Vampirella comics? the idea that vampires including Dracula originated from another planet.
