Anyone rewatching any old shows during quarantine?

I find David Lynch movies to be absolutely impenetrable.

The Straight Story and Dune are his only works that I can understand... with most of his films I haven't got the slightest idea of what's going on.

I have been watching my DVD sets of I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners. I also have Eureka I have all 5 seasons. And also Relic Hunter. I think I have watched every movie and show I have.

Catching up on all the gritty cop shows that I wasn't allowed to watch when I was little.

Got to the episode of Seinfeld where Elaine tries to convert a gay guy.

Thinking back in all the days watching the syndicated Seinfeld at 7 was part of my routine, I never once saw this episode. I hate when they yank episodes of old shows from the rotation because current sensibilities have changed.

Both Sledge and Married with Children turned up in the UK in the small hours, and it took me half an episode to realise they were parodies of bad shows, not actually bad shows...

Indeed but they were so much fun.. Sledge was definitely a parody of all bad cop shows and Dirty Harry movies. But it was very short lived and didn't last long.

I caught an episode of The Highwayman on youtube.. I remember that show the semi truck was a custom Mack truck with a helicopter as the front cab.

It's not an old show, but after I finished Stargate I am currently watching Agents of Shield. Finished Season 2 and going to start Season 3 soon. I was recommended to see Agent Carter in the context of their airing so I'm going to start AC Season 1 tonight.

I watched The Highwayman because Jane was in it. As she said later when I interviewed her, "I did so much c---p back then."

This season of Sledge Hammer takes place five years before that nuclear explosion.

I've done Shōgun, which was as good as I remembered it, maybe better.
And I've done S1 of The West Wing. That's a great show (which I've seen in toto), S2 is queued up.
S1 of Kung Fu is in progress.

Thinking of starting another Good Place viewing. Maybe watch Succession again except it could be a year or two before another season starts so might hold that off.

And my friends have me watching through What We Do In The Shadows and Agents of SHIELD for the first time. Agents I hear gets better later so it's good enough to keep watching. I can't get into What We Do In The Shadows. It's a little funny, but none of the characters are likable or interesting. I have trouble with shows without any characters to get invested in.

I have posted earlier in this thread but I have one more to add.

Community.

I avoided it because I thought that it was just another cookie cutter sitcom of "put 5-7 people in a situation and whacky hijinks ensue". I was wrong.

I have enjoyed the shit out of this show. Written and produced by Dan Harmon of "Rick and Morty" fame.
A lot of it is directed by the Russo Brothers of "Infinity War" and "Endgame" fame.

The comedy is rapid fire and intelligent. The cast seems to like each other and has great chemistry, except for one person. Entire episodes satirizing other shows are done well. They attack all of the lame ass TV tropes and have fun doing it. Abed and Troy are great.

The only thing I would criticize is Chevy Chase. He seems like he does not want to be there most of the time. He is still using his "bumbling fool" shtick and that horse was beaten to death around 1975. Any other older actor could have filled that role much better.

"Troy and Abed in the morning!"
