Anyone recognise the episode?

My Ready Room rant is actually kind of short - it's just that ready rooms on modern aircraft carriers are where the airplane pilots stand by prior to missions and get briefed and stuff. I just think it's weird that Star Trek uses it as a term to describe the captain's personal office - it's not even close to the same function. :)

Whereas the location that comes the closest to that description is the "observation lounge".

It occurs to me that with each series, the captain did more work/briefings/casual work meetings in a progressively larger office and less work in his or her bedroom-office area.

And Froot, if you eat all natural peanut butter, refrigeration can be used to regulate the amount of oil separation and overall runniness. Want the stuff to be runnier? Leave it at room temperature. Want it to be firmer? Stick it in the fridge. But, no, the oil is not harmful.

I'll be doing some serious thinking about the Swedish chef in the near future, I do believe.

No no no, dear Froot! My dislike for the Replicator Scene runs deep. In all seriousness, I hate it. I rarely discuss it on this board because my hatred for it makes me totally unreasonable. Clearly, the entire script was written for some other sci fi show, or for no show in particular, and then carelessly redone as a Voyager script. I can overlook the "complex" questions that involve math (wait, how many dead people will this species require in order to maintain viability?) and I can overlook "detailed" questions such as how many light years Voyager has traveled (how did that shuttle catch up?) but I cannot over look the replicator scene. Anyone who had ever watched one single episode of Star Trek ever would realize that REPLICATORS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! And then to COMPOUND the error by having Janeway whip out the makings of PB&J! NO! Why did she not just REPLICATE the sammich stuff? Where does she refrigerate the jelly? Why was Ballard eating sammichs at the Academy? Did they not have replicators there? I HATE THAT ENTIRE SCENE with a purple passion.
Are you being serious?

It's a joke.

Every hear someone say: "*Persons name* is such a bad cook, they could burn Orange juice." ????

That's the joke with Janeway.
She's such a bad cook, she can make a machine that makes it impossible to burn food, burn it anyway. It's a play on Murphy's Law.

How could you not find that funny?

^ Yeah, Exodus, I'm serious. I know, I know. I understand the joke. I just think it's dumb. And it really annoys me. Yes, I am the same person who thinks "Threshold", "Sub Rosa", and "Spock's Brain" are all hilarious. I have a pretty high tolerance for dumb Trek. But the pot roast. OH the pot roast. I can't explain why it sticks in my craw. I just know that on a very basic level, that scene makes me want to do this: :brickwall:

Is that what they call a pet peeve?:)

^ Not exactly. It's more into the territory of "crazy lady is getting bizarrely worked up about some TV show". But, yeah, I guess "pet peeve" is sort of a good general term for it.

I also made this:

But you don't see me going around shipping THAT couple.

I used the Evil Scene of Stupidness because when I needed a "turkey", it was the first clip that came to mind. Possibly because I hate it so much.

EDIT: Yes, Yes, I see you have now noticed that I used it twice. Yes. Thank you, Froot. LOL.

You could have Photoshopped up a turkey. But you didn't. You wanted burned pot roast. You wanted it because you secretly love burned pot roast. Also, J/N.

I see through your possum tricks!

Crap! I can't think of a single witty retort. Think, Possum, think! Oh, I know, I'll distract you! Here! Look at this!

Brightly colored Chav!Kate and Enquirer!Gates will make you forget about the Pot Roast of Doom.

ETA: I do hope we have not scared away the poor innocent who made this thread. We seem to have drifted "slightly" off topic.

I do hope y'all aren't straining your brains trying to make sense out of Froot & me being wacky. It's better to just let it all wash over you. Like a wave in a vast sea of "WTH?"

So, basically react like we were watching Threshold. Or Favorite Son.
