Anyone know how to engage/find other Star Trek fans?

Getting old seems like it must suck sometimes omg
i really wanna be old (not in a wish my life away thing just idk) but at the same time i’m terrified of getting older. im 18 in a few months and meant to have sent my uni application in which i keep postponing bc how am i at that point already?? but also i really wanna be an actual adult or whatever age i get to be stable and stuff.
Are you interested in Trek Fan Fic -- Reading or Writing?
both! i do read Trek fan fic already but mainly through AO3, been putting off writing something though.

Late to this thread but welcome aboard the Star Trek fandom!
It's always nice to see fans that have discovered Trek and started to enjoy it on their own.
I got my older daughter into Trek but the younger one got in it by herself, I am happy about that.

by actual adult i more mean, a (any) form of self sufficiency and hopefully some stability like my parents are 40 but they act my age despite the way they act i’d still say actual adult only bc they now have a house and “reliable” jobs. I understand what you guys mean probably is a bit of a fantasy but whatever - I am finally enjoying being a teenager (even if nearly 18 is a bit late) like a lot!! I’m content with it for now 🫶

Frankly you are on the right path, and enjoy your teen years.
For me it was like "hey I am 20!" *blink* "Oh crap I am 40!".
Time just flies after 25.

Reminds me of a quote of the Magnum-TV-Series... and now I feel old, because I have to say "the classic-Magnum-PI-Series with Tom Selleck, not the reboot with the Fireguy from the first Suicide Squad Movie" ^^
Anyway, in the Pilot "Don't eat the snow on Hawaii", Thomas Sullivan Magnum III is asked, why he makes his living as a private Investigator and he says "One day he turned 30, realising, he was never 20."
And I felt like that, too, a decade ago - without fighting in 'nam, as Magnum did, but suddenly, wham-bam, there was a three in front of my age. Now there's a four.

And you know what? Sometimes I still feel, like I'm that 6 year old kid from Germany, running around in the "Schrebergarten", apparently called "garden spot" or "allotment garden" in English, wanting to play with my friends. That's the other thing of the "I've never been 20"-thing: I was 19 - and suddenly - I'm 40. ^^

But yeah, @StarTrek1701, time does fly - or flee, after all the latin phrase is "tempus fugit". @Annie McCoy don't you worry - everything will be fine. I remember being 25, trying to find my place in life, and I can say: One will find it. Might not be the place, one originally wanted - that might be - but one will find the place in life.

yeah i am starting to enjoy it and particularly looking forward to university next year! God I feel like time has flown since forever, how fast will it go after 25???:lol:
Faster and faster. My child will (probably) graduate from college in June and I'm still thinking about the toddler taking first steps towards my arms.

Enjoying where you are is great!
