Anyone keeping CBS All Access during Discovery's hiatus?

People you don't know. :wtf:
Wow. People I don't know, either. (And apparently a lot of them also like sports.) And we can't even blame it on seniors; the 18-49 ratings are similar to the overall ratings.

Just more evidence (not that I needed it) that good taste is not a broadly distributed trait. There is literally not a single show in that top 25 (either set) that I would take the time to watch; indeed some I haven't even heard of. Nor (to make it a bit less subjective) is there anything that has received any noteworthy critical acclaim in this era of "peak TV."

(Although, to be fair, these are only broadcast ratings, and most "prestige" TV is by subscription or streaming. One has to wonder about how the numbers for such shows compare.)

You need to remember the vast majority of TV viewers come back from manual labour or long ass day jobs and want to switch off. A show like NCIS is procedural enough to not require you to tune in every week, but has enough personality and an overall story for you to invest in the characters. Not everything needs to be Game of Thrones, or even Star Trek Discovery.

However there is also a core fanbase for NCIS too, that religiously watch it. One of my old tenants was a superfan.

I put it on hold this past week. I'll fire it back up before DSC returns, because there's nothing else on it that I watch.

I went to cancel this morning and they offered me 50% off for the next two months. I figure I'll knock out the next three episodes sometime soon.

Fair enough, why don't you try going through the whole season again and see how it sits with you after that.

It can help sometimes.

Yeah, STD is behind a paywall...unless you refuse to pay. Then they offer it to you for free. :guffaw:

More things in life should work that way.

I deactivated CBS All Access as soon as the hiatus started, and I waited to reactivate until I knew I would be able to blitz-watch the whole second half of the season. I haven't had a chance until now; I've been avoiding the BBS so I wouldn't have anything spoiled. As soon as I'm done with my big marathon viewing of the second half of the season, I will deactivate CBS AA again until the next season.
