Anyone in the States getting SGU on local TV next month?

I'd been told SGU was going to be going into syndication this fall, but haven't heard anything about it from local stations.

Anyone else in the same boat?

The station running ATLANTIS told me they turned down SGU, and a couple other stations told me they're not carrying it either. I can only phone so many...

Been told by whom?

I know MGM is desperate for cash, but there are 20 episodes, that's it. What will they do after they run out of episodes? With SyFy who knows when season 2 will really begin and end, so TV stations will just keep rerunning the same episodes voer and over? They normally wait until season three before reruns on Saturday afternoons. But MGM does need the cash.

But no, I haven't heard anything and think it's nuts if they try.

I guess you don't know how STARGATE gets aired in the States.

It's similar to how Trek TNG and DS9 ran in the States. Sent out, one season at a time, to local stations independently. (No TV network involved.)

With STARGATE, the seasons air first on cable, then get released, one at a time, in order, to local stattions.

It's been this way since season one of SG1 first ran. It was first seen on the SHOWTIME cable network. Six months to a year later, episodes that ran on cable got released to syndication. Same with every other season, including after the cable move to SciFi Channel. This method was used with ATLANTIS too.

SGU is already being released in syndication because they're releasing season one. The fact that there's only one season so far means nothing, no more than it did when there was only one season of SG1 to release, because one season of the show was what they were releasing.

It's treated as if the cable run never happened. The sydication package includes a full run of all episodes for that season, with many repeats thrown in throughout the year. The following September, the next season starts playing, with its first runs and repeats, etc.

I don't know why you're saying MGM would be stupid to do this, since it's what they've been doing all along, all these years.

SGU is already on the syndication schedule because season one is done on SyFy. Now it's the local channels' turn. You might want to check the airing schedule at www.gateworld.net, under "syndication". It shows SGU as starting on local TV as of the week of September 13th.

Problem is, I can't find it in my area, and MGM doesn't have an affiliate list any more on their Stargate pages. (At least none I can find.)

When I was in western Washington, Stargate was syndicated all the time. I'm not sure about Universe, though, which isn't as good a series to run in syndication as its more standalone predecessors.

We get the occasional episode of SG-1 but nothing on a regular basis. Between SG-1 and SGA I'm surprised the local stations aren't picking it up. I just did a searchon SGU and nothing is scheduled for my local Denver stations.
