People who believe the moon landings were fakes are nutjobs or idiots or people trying to scam idiots out of their money.

I don't think I've ever met someone who thought the moon landings were fake. Until now, that is...

The fact that scientists and other learned men right now,in 2010(soon to be 2011) tell us that the US lacks the ability to go the moon speaks volumes about the 60s apollo moon missions. I cannot understand why people will question the government on all sorts of things but in the 60s it was like a religion to believe what the government fed you on TV.
Its like a religion, it requires faith and no proof and anyone who questions it is an idiot or a heretic or whatever. Is asking for proof such a bad thing? I believe in the moon missions as much as the WMD in Iraq. I could still be swayed with some actual proof not provided by the government.

What? We certainly do not lack the ability to go to the moon now. The money and the will, sure. But not the ability. What reputable scientists say that?
What we do lack is the ability to stage everything that would be required to fake all those Apollo missions, and to keep the media and thousands and thousands of people quiet about it for 40 years. It's simply preposterous, not to mention an insult to the ingenuity and bravery of everyone at NASA (and their myriad subcontractors) who actually accomplished these great feats.

I think someone already mentioned this, but the Soviet Union would have monitoring all these missions, and would certainly have called "Shenannigans" if there was even a hint of doubt.

1) They closed down Apollo because Congress stopped giving NASA 5% of the federal budget.
2) Nobody destroyed the drawings for the Saturn Rocket. Who the hell told you that? There isn't even a single set, since the rocket wasn't built by a single organization. Most of the original contractors were merged into Boeing, but Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and United Technologies also have them in their archives and (shockingly) might even send you a copy if you ask.
Indeed, the Rocketdyne (now part of UTX) F1 and J2 were both investigated as possible starting points in the Constellation program, and an improved J2 was selected to power the upper stages.
3) Nobody destroyed any hardware either. The whole damn Saturn V intended for Apollo 18 is actually preserved in Florida. Multiple spare F1 engines are used as exhibits or display pieces, notably in front on the Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Division HQ.

I like to deal in facts. Hate me if you will but there are facts that really make one wonder at the timing. If it coincidence then they happen but I don't trust them. Take for instance, this... Maybe you think I am a nut but something was found in Roswell, NM in 1947 on July 8th. Who here has not heard of this, an Army Major(senior officer) finds something that is not of this world, but later is dismissed as a weather balloon. Senior officers are not going to make this kind of mistake, he was a "fall guy" in my opinion.

I don't hate you. I just find it strange that you think thousands and thousands of people all over government and private industry conspired to fake trips to the moon without anyone ever telling or providing one shred of evidence to that effect, and that the media and the Soviet Union went along with it.

And? Bell Labs invented a hell of a lot of stuff during the 30s and 40s. Whoop-de-doo.
I also have no clue what this has to do with the Moon landings.
One of the real lunar modules - 18's or 19's, can't remember which - was used in the miniseries From the Earth to the Moon.
