Anyone Here Like The Big Bang Theory Televison Show?

TBS runs the show (at minimum) 5 days a week, usually in blocks. If you time it right you can catch the pilot. It's also on Amazon, but apparently not included in Prime.

This is how it all started ...

Leonard sure was thin in the first episode. Look at the pants Sheldons wearing .LOL!

Sheldon also had normal human sexual urges in the pilot. Leonard makes a couple of references to Sheldon's sexuality--okay one was a masturbation joke but still. Interesting how his character developed.

For the record, "groundbreaking comedy" refers to sit-coms that do something truly different. It changes over time because the envelope continues to be pushed. All the Family (originally a British show) discussed issues that had never been portrayed on television before, MASH did something similar, Seinfeld broke the mold of needing moral and family value lessons, Married with Children was the anti-sitcom--etc. Contemporary shows like Modern Family or TBBT while having slightly different set ups than other sitcoms still have the same loving, family dynamic that has been portrayed many times previously. And don't bring out the firing squad because I do enjoy both shows.

Also, I don't care about the OPs original threads. Why care so much to bring that up here? Pubert and I have disagreed a few times in previous conversations but shouldn't we treat discussions on their own merits? And this is a fun discussion.

Yeah I noticed that in the pilot. He actually seemed attracted to Penny especially after she said she like his board. :guffaw:It seems after that episode Sheldon became asexual.

I also like that as the series goes on the friends especially Penny and Amy are affecting Sheldon. When Amy kissed Sheldon for the first time he just said a Spock like 'Fascinating". His Dungeons and Dragons tryst with Amy was also hilarious.

When this show came out, it renewed my interest in D&D and GURPS RPGs. I'm still up for virtual tabletop gaming. Now this thread has renewed my interest in going back and watching the series--I haven't seen it the last few years.

Pubert, my apologies. Sincerest apologies.
I will say no more. Let all be in peace.
And know that I have nothing personal against you. Never have. :)

Apology accepted. I do take some of the responsibility for peoples reaction to me. I have been in Trek Today only a few months and my earlier posts a few months ago were a bit rough but I have softened somewhat. I still post in the trek movie 11+ forum but I don't harshly criticize the movies as before. If I post something negative I try and give a good reason for it. I still get dinged every now and then but that's part of being on these boards.

As long as we remember that all we have on our likes and dislikes are simply opinions, I have no problems with opinions. :)

Like I said, theenglish, I have apologized....wholeheartedly and unreservedly.

Given recent events in my life, I had to review and think: "WTF am I doing?" :)

Sorry, we posted at nearly the same time--I didn't even see your post until just now.

One of the problems with postings is that we often read too much into another persons comments and posts--missing their all too often innocent intentions. I too have been both the attacker and the victim, as have many of us. Peace and long life.
The written form of communication can be a bit tricky...even with emoticons. Heh...sometimes when I hand write a message to a friend, I still use emoticons. Isn't that odd? :)

LLAP, PALL to all. :)

Now kiss and make up finally.. geez, it's like a season finale cliffhanger with you too! :p:lol:

Yup I thought the same about D&D. I used to play as a teenager all the time with my friends. We played probably from age 12-17 or 18. It was great fun. No one wants to play anymore probably because some have family or just think they are too old. :weep:

That's how I feel, although I've never enjoyed Chuck Lorre's humor so it sinks even lower for me.

Lorres two and a half men stunk but TBBT is actually good. Its probably good because he had a co creator on the show. Two and a half men stunk bad especially after sheen was removed.

It wasn't so bad, i liked Kutcher as a replacement because he was something different and had some funny storylines. What got on my nerves at one point was Alan Harper who ot progressively weirder and more unlikeable, they really exaggerated his character even more to a point where he tipped from weirdo to freak (not a good development).

The character got very stale and one note.

I liked Kutcher coming in, but after his first season, where he was smart and fairly straight-laced, they turned him into a pot smoking Kelso.

The characters in TAAHM didn't seem to care about each other much like the characters in TBBT. When Charlie died the brother, mother and nephew cracked jokes at the funeral and seemed not to care at all that he died.

I've only see a few episodes - it seems as funny as lung cancer to me - some guys who appear to be middle-aged playing overgrown teenagers.

Whatever - I still find it as found as the clap.
So a major point you made was shot down and now you're getting huffy about it? Sheldon, is that you? :guffaw:

He doesn't like looking in the mirror. :guffaw:

When the show first came out I was not interested and I hate the theme song. But after I finally watched it I really liked it, my only problem now is I've seen about half of them ten times and not seen the others yet as I only watch them on TBS occasionally and it's the same ones again. And I mute the TV everytime that damn song is on.

It's too bad about the actress that played Mrs. Wolowitz dying but the actress that plays Bernedette does the voice so well I thought that they could just have her take over.

I think it was out of respect for the actress and her (even if small) contribution to the show. It also forced Wolowitz to grow as a character.

And that final send off scene which went for both Mrs Wolowitz and for Carol-Ann Sucee - wow.

Oh, I didn't see any of that. I will someday, when TBS and I get together again.

Agreed. It would have been disrespectful to replace the characters voice. Mrs. Wolowitz's voice was a great character though.
