i was reading somewhere about 6 months or so ago that the director of Tron Legacy was remaking the The Black Hole for Disney. Has anyone heard anything about this project, or is it stuck in development hell?

I hear they're going to do a steampunk version and call it 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Sea . . . . :)

Seriously, I haven't heard anything about that for awhile.

I was just annoyed cos it's been my ambition to write a Black Hole remake... Though, to be honest, Event Horizon pretty much already *was* an adult Black Hole remake...

It seems to have fallen into a...

okay, I won't say it. ;)

Like the sequel to Tron, it could take years before a remake of The Black Hole gets any traction, but once it does it could fall together pretty quickly, IMO.

I'd be interested in seeing a remake, the original was good entertainment but lacking in many areas such as the acting, though to be honest think that may have been the director as I've seen them all in better roles, and things like having them crawl around outside the ship without space suits.

In a remake, they must keep a few things though, the Cygnus for one, as that's such an unusual (and I admit impractical but cool!) design.
