Anyone else use twitter?

I have a Twitter account, my username is SadBoring as Cali and Trippy might have guessed when I added them.

I much prefer it to Facebook as it doesn't require the use of a real name.

I had no idea that was you  I added you now though

Thanks. :D

I figured (hoped ?) people might make the connection between my blog and my username. Hermiod was taken. :(

I haven't even bothered to really check and see what twitter actually is or what it does.

Twitter in Plain English.
I didn't really know anything about the site, and went on the site and watched that video today.
What a fucking joke. For a start I wanted to punch the narrator and go fed up of his annoying voice, and I just kept saying "Facebook, Facebook, Facebook" at the screen.
"oooh I want to see what my friends are up to" yes, there's this thing called Facebook mate. It already exists. Great job for ripping it off. It does everything you claim your revolutionary amazing site can do, and more. And frankly that's bad enough as is, why do I need this guff?

Twitter? Twatter more like

I don't know why I have one, but I do.

The first few days I used it I learned I'm more polite when Stephen fry is watching me, I make Robert Llewlyn laugh and I have an easy way to tell Jonathon Ross I enjoy his wifes cleavage.

I'm too addicted to the internet :(

edit, probably impolite not to include http://twitter.com/theredeemed - but I can't say theres anything interesting there :p

Philip Schofield started following me today. :D Given that today at work we had a guy from Head Office come in and observe and when I got home I had to phone my employment agency, the Inland Revenue and British Gas in quick succession, I think it made me smile more than it should have done. :o

I have one too, but it's not my personal one. It is connected to my Trek website, so people can know what I'm working on. Until now, I got many e-mails with people asking me what was coming next. This was consuming too much of my limited time, and so this frees me from replying to all those messages.

I use this to cut paper:

You apparently use this:

That's your choice, but frankly I don't see that you get to claim that your way is better.

Never claimed it was better. Just seems a bit pointless to me

Plus that video was just dumb. I use Facebook but I can't stand a lot of the bullshit that goes with it, and that video was full to the brim of bullshit
"ooh there are people you never talk and don't give a shit about to e-mail or call, but yet you still what to know what they're up to"
What bollocks. That's one of the annoying things on FB, the "what are you doing" box, when people fill it up with mudabe garbage like-
"John is watching TV"
"John is cleaning the car"
"John is going to the shops"
"John is having a wank"

I don't care! If you're doing something interesting then fine, feel free to tell the world on FB or Twitter, but who are these sados who go to the corner shop to buy some cans of Stella and think "oh Christ I need to tell the world what I've just done! Load up the computer and log me on to Facebook ASAP!!!"

If I ever fill in that box I'll at least put something interesting or amusing in there

I guess you hadn't read earlier in the thread where I said I find the video to be the exact opposite of what Twitter is like.

When I first saw that video it made me not want to try Twitter for a whole year. Now that I'm using it, I find it to be likable and nothing at all like that video.

So, criticize the video, but don't think that anything you have to say about it has anything to do with Twitter. You don't like the video, but you don't know anything about Twitter.

^ I did read the post earlier about the video, but it was so offal it needed repeating. And actually I was bored last night so I signed up and played around for a bit.

Crapola

If you like it; enjoy it. But I'll never be going back on it
